Most of the space is taken up by permanent local campers and there were only 2 empty spots (with water hookups, but there are signs everywhere to boil the drinking water).

No showers, just the toilets. No hiking around in walkable distance. The water near boatramp is murky, not pleasant for swimming. Lots of friendly ducks :)

Ohau C is in such a beautiful part of the country.

Great access to Lake Benmore with two boat ramps, and when we stayed there was plenty of room to feel like we were on our own. Lots of fishing in the canals nearby and a fabulous view of Aoraki (Mt Cook). We paid our camp fees and the owners were friendly, they even handed out lollies for the kids on New Years Day. We look forward to going back some time later this year!

The owners of this camp are rude abrupt and very unhelpful.

The toilet area and dump site were discustingly dirty and unhygenic.

And actually you can freedom camp on the other side of the canal. There are plenty of lovely spots in and around the willows . This is land controlled by LINZ. Which means you can camp there for up to 30days.

The owners of the ohau c camp site have put up no 'overnight stay signs' in this area which should be disregarded.

Nice camp area, fairly busy with lead up to Easter, good facilities, lovely views of the lake.

    Great place, great sceneries!!!

The lady who owns the camp was friendly, collected $10 from us, gave us a receipt and there we were.... in complete isolation... nobody else was there except for the ducks and some colourful birds! The camp was closed for winter and so were the toilets etc.

A truly magnificent camping site with stunning views of Lake Benmore and Mount Cook.

It has both summer seasonal camping sites available as well as short stay sites both at very reasonable rates. Toilet facilities and a dump station are available for paying campers within the camp along with 3 boat ramps.

Trout and Salmon are in abundance in both Lake Benmore and the surrounding canals so if fishing is your thing then this is certainly a must for your summer holidays.

Both the owners manage the camp in a highly professional manner and go out of there way to be helpful and friendly at all times. The negative comments made ( unnamed of course ) in 2 earlier reviews don't in my view fairly represent how well this camp is run and managed.

We stayed here for one night in winter, is a lovely quiet spot, I think it would be very busy in summer.
