Nice place, but the toilets at the campingground are very dirty (earth closet).

There are some more toilets and showers at the entrance which are okay, but about 600m to go.

It’s nice to walk around the farm and pet the animals.

The campingground costs 17$ per person/night.

    It‘s OK, relatively far outside.

I personally found it quite annoying to climb out the car four times to enter the actual campingground.. two times to move the cone placed at a road to the campinggroup and two times to unlock and lock a gate to the actual campingground. Also there is ANOTHER gate to the whole regional park that gets locked in the evening, if you arrive later you have to wait for someone to open up for you.. other than that.. no flush toilets on the ground directly, found the toilets below average compared to other low cost campinggrounds, showers only 10 min walk away and not clean.. I did like some of the animals, made friends with a chicken over the week that I stayed, but this other walking alarm clock was horrible haha 5am every morning. I will say that the site as it is beautiful, very spacious and green

    Yep okay, stayed 1 night.

Easy to find and access gate. Lovely locations. Chickens were great, however think there is a broken rooster, non stop wake-up alarm from 4am.

Good place to spend the last night before handing back our Jucy van.

Ok toilet block with basin for washing up. Only downside was a free range chicken that decided our camper was the place to roost for the night! It woke us up at 6am! Quite an experience.

We didn't use any facilities so can comment on those but was a perfect place for a one night stay near Auckland.... Animals were a bonus!

Great with kids, lot’s of animals!!

The showers are not on the grass area where you camp, the are near the shearing shed so a bit hidden.

A bit pricy but still cheap than any other option around Auckland!

    Awesome spot!

So quiet despite being rather central. Lots of animals and space for the kids, nice little walks to explore. Water available, long drops weren't the nicest but a bit of a drive to the nearest dump station. Overall would definitely stay again

Absolutly a great place to stay if you visit Auckland.

We stayed here two nights. It was the last week of the Easter holiday school break so was very quiet. The proximity to the city, the farm animals, the green grass and the clean toilet - all were just great.

Beautiful campground surrounded by stunning coastal walk.

Lovely, flat, well maintained grass field with lots of bushes for shade and gravel spots for cars and when wet.

Campground has washing up facilities, toilets and drinking water, and a short walk to the park entrance gives more toilets, sinks and a couple of hot showers.

It's also a little visitor farm with little paddocks and you are basically shut in the park when the gates close - 9pm this summer, but earlier during winter.

Booking is online for Auckland Council so a bit fiddly but well worth it. 20 mijs drive from Auckland CBD and only a few mins to the airport.

A great place for a night around Auckland.

We stayed here on our first night and did not regret it. It is $20 for two adults.

There are public toilets which are decent. Also there is showers. Not luxurious but they do the job quite well.

There are lots of different animals. So if you like sheeps, cows, horses, birds, etc. this is a lovely place to stay.

So I would say that it is worth the $20 when you keep in mind that they have to run a small farm there.

Be here in good time. The spots for vans are few.

We paid 20$, which is way too much for what you get.

The main gate closes at 5pm, so no way to get in with the car later than that. The toilets are very basic. After a long search, we finally found the showers - and decided not to use them. They are located in the public part of the park, in the disabled toilet cabin.

If you what to take public Transports to go to the city (because you what to come back after 5pm) you'll have to walk 20min to the next bus stop and then ride the bus for an hour.

All in all not worth it, I would rather stay at a free spot more far away from the city.

Wow! Great spot in the middle of Auckland.

    Close to airport.

The after hours check in process sucks. Took me about 20 minutes. The online check in had so many hoops to jump through. Was supposed to be charged $15 but was charged $20.36. There were several others struggling to get through the process too. As I finished checking in, another person showed up and opened the gate. Inside was a camp host that checked in several people, cash only. I wish I would have gone this route.

This campsite is perfect, nearby the city and the airport.

For $15/pp you will get access to hot showers, basic toilets, drinkable water and beautiful surroundings! Don't worry about the check in process, just enter the gate on foot and find the host.

    Best park so fare!

With all facilites you need (dish sink, water supply, toilets, showers, etc.)! 10 min from the airport and there is a small farm with a petting zoo, so a really great location (for kids) with a stunning view on the sunset!

The place is nice, beautiful view, very quiet.

But, the park’s gate close at 7 PM which way too early, and it’s written anywhere but in one of the three emails they send you AFTER you booked. We came out to have dinner at the city center and when we came back at 8 PM it was impossible to reach the campsite. So we paid for a site we did not use and they did not want to refund us. Very bad experience.

    - cleanliness was OK.

    - great atmosphere

    - everything is green here

    - feels like a farm

    - very spacious and with privacy for each vehicle (if there is no rain and you can spread out on the lawn)

    - compost toilet, no soap

    - no kitchen or community area

    - nice outside area to clean cuttleries

    - you have to register via phone (20-30min booking process) - too complicated

    - close to the Airport

    - price 15ppn, unpowered

    - feels like you pay the high price mainly for the overcomplicated administration

Negative: dirty and stinky facilities, no shower, no light (even though you pay $15 pp).

Positive: 10 min drive from the airport, large grass area, farm animals nearby which you may encounter

I was in line for about 30 min to get the booking (there is a phone with wich you need to call the city council, they were very friendly but you need patience!)

Lovely spot and close to airport for first and last night of a trip.

The only reason I did not mark 10 is that it’s so difficult to book we gave up after 30 mins on the phone when the ranger told us to stay but outside the camp ground.

For some mad reason you cannot book online

Stayed here for one night as our first stop after landing.

Although the site is close to the airport, you wouldn't know it, it's very quiet and secluded. Nice coastal walk straight from the site and great views at sunrise. Only marked down due to the lack of facilities, has basic public toilets, but no showers on site.

Great location and fantastic landscape surrounding the campsite.

But it took us approximately 1 hour before we got to talk to anybody at city council and when we were about to make the payment we were cut of and had to start over from the beginning... Luckily the park ranger came by and we could pay and get the code. So don't be in a hurry if you want to get in! Otherwise a pleasant stay.

We stayed there two nights with our NON self contained campervan.

$30 per night for 2 adults including car. Very quiet beautiful place with scenic park to walk and hike. Sheep, pigs, cows, goats and chicken are there and you can wander around and pet them. Toilets and sink for washing dishes. Hot shower for $2 coin available but did only work on one morning. Booking over the Auckland City Council Hotline - take your time (15-30 minutes) and payment over secure payment line.

Stayed in both the camping ground and the SCC car park.

Both must be booked through the Auckland City Council. Telephone available at the info booth. Booking process can take some time.

The camping ground costs $15pp pn and is through a locked gate. Toilets are average long drop, no other facilities.

The SCC is available to certified self contained campervans for $8pp pn. Park in the bus parking area between 3pm and 9am. Toilets are flush, and coin operated hot showers available. No rubbish facilities.

The park is a great facility, many nice walks in the area and, as it is an open access farm, there are lots of the usual farm animals to be seen.

Perfect place to drop into to sort yourself out if, like us, you've just arrived, picked up your rental & want to take stock of the situation.

Beautiful location not far from airport, camping ground available or you can park in bus parking overnight ( a bit cheaper) if you're self contained. Just ring from small shed at entry (free phone) to book & pay.
