Te Ahiaua (The Pipi Beds) is a wonderful freedom camping spot near the mouth of the Waiotahe river and close to the huge white sand sweep of Waiotahe beach.
Te Ahiaua has a shelter, bench seating and plenty of space for recreation. Please camp in the signposted area at the eastern end of the reserve. The reserve is located 8km west of Opotiki, maximum stay is 3 consecutive nights. Dogs must be under control at all times. To use this reserve you must have fully self contained toilet facilities and take all your rubbish with you when you leave.
