The best Campsite I've been so far on New Zealand, very nice beach and toilet, a lot of space and sometimes you can watch a rocket launch from the mahia Peninsula.

    Totally recommend!!!

    Stayed for 1 night here.

Quite places, no drinking water as described.

Flat beach with low waves. Good for swimming.

Negative point are the mosquitoes here at night time! Suggest a good mosquito net inside the car.

Enjoy the stay at this place.

Great campsite right next to the beach.

Clean flushable toilets with soap and bins available. Dump station without portable water so bring a lot. Would definitely come back!

Plenty of space as long as others park sensibly.

Very nice beach. Toilets ok, no soap but this seems to be common in most public car parks. Lots of rubbish at the bins which hadn’t been emptied. Remember mossie spray and lots of mossies here! Dump station which was useful. If more to do in the area we probably would have stayed longer, however it’s quite far out the way and nothing locally to do other than beach.

By the ocean. Toilets are clean and have a motion detector light. It was very quiet at night. Plenty of space.

Awesome spot right on the beach.

You can either park up on the grass or under some shady pine trees. Plenty of space. Great public toilet, rubbish bins and dump spot nearby.

Lots of locals coming and going, but quite quiet. A local store just a short walk away. Toilets with limited water supply. Lovely safe beach.

Lovely spot on a Sandy Beach, popular with locals.

Views of the Mahia Peninsula. We were able to park on the sand facing the beach and right near the bathrooms. Change rooms also available. Drinking water on site. Huge lot that could easily fit 20 campers. A bit windy and the bugs were bad at night. Beware, lots of people were getting their vehicles stuck in the sand and needed to be pushed or towed out. Pick your spot wisely

Another great location provided by the Wairoa DC.

Plently of flat sites with views out into the bay. There is a toilet block with a cold water shower on site. The beach is flat and sandy and good for swimming, and Mussels can be collected off the rocks at low tide. The only downside during our stay was the bay and beach was covered in masses of smelly decaying sea weed including rubbish, such as old cans plastic bags and bottles.
