We went in peak season and it was empty, plenty of space for our car and tent in an ideal spot.

The field is huge and surrounded by a stunning trickling stream. There is BBQ facilities and a toilet block. Bring your bug spray as it's mosquito central!! But it's ideal for one night wild camping in a rural and remote setting surrounded by the sound of chirping birds. Extremely relaxing!

A rather special place to get to as it feels quite adventurous driving up and down the mountains on a loose gravel road.

However the site is well worth it as it is surrounded by forest and has a little stream next to it. Not sure if you can bath in it although some people mentioned it is possible. Place has clean toilet facilities with cold running water. There are two large outdoor dining areas where you can light a fire. Supposed to book the site via a phone number but there is no mobile phone signal. We camped there anyway and although we saw the ranger passing in his car he did not stop to check. Saved 10 dollars although would not mind paying that if booking was made easier.

I found this campsite great for setting up my large tent and camping in the open grounds.

I have low profile tires 20" mags and had problem driving on the grass. It was quite muddy at the top but got better further down.

I loved it when I learnt that there was BBQ spots with wood provided.

I would suggest that you dont leave your food out as I had visitors through the night trying to take it.

I will be going again soon and to try out my hammock.

Great campground, big and nice and since it only takes 40 ppl at the time (based on facilities we think) its never crowded, water toilets but you need to boil water 3 min before drinking it, it even got

a small swimming hole in the stream, very nice. Unfortunately very little info about all the beautiful hikes you can do there, so get your info before you get there as there is no cellphone reception.
