July - there are only 4 spots for motorhomes but we didn’t struggle at this time of year.

The toilets were clean and the spot is right on the beach. It’s just a simple parking lot on a bit of a lean. Kids came around 8pm and made noise for a bit. I wouldn’t stay there again but one night was ok.

Lovely place to stay in napier, clean toilets, good fishing spot right on beach, was handy to shops and bars.

Limited parking spaces here so need to arrive early to secure a spot as there were a couple of campers that parked outside the designated areas that were fined $400 while we were staying here so this spot is checked regularly and monitored by the council , if there's no spots available best to move on as it's not worth the fine there are plenty of other free camping areas close to napier.

Be careful: you are Just allowed to park in the 4!

marked areas. They Check it during the night. You might get a fee of 400 NZD, If you ignore that.

Very nice spot with a nice view. You can Walk along the beach to City center, but it takes a while and parts of the way are going through an industrial area. The place ist quiet, after the Young people left with their Cars and their musik. The Toilettes were okay. Somebody came in the morning to clean it Up.

Great place, only 10 minute walk into town and the Urban winery, worth the stop.

A little noise from cars driving in and out during the night but not a massive issue, toilets were clean, although full of flies late at night.

Toilet and an outdoor cold shower. Close to restaurants and bars. Surprisingly quiet.

Beautiful spot in a great location.

However it was busy and noisy overnight (perhaps more so than normal, given it was a Saturday night in November). People drinking and yelling on benches, plus a few cars with people sleeping in them (not freedom campers). Overall, fine but I wouldn't stay here again. So many other fantastic freedom campsites in this area which are quieter.

Winter review: Only 4 marked spots here easy enough for us to get a spot arriving on a Saturday afternoon on the first day of school holidays in July Pretty view of bay Public (flush) toilets right

    next to carpark

An easy base from which to explore Napier though it’s a solid 30-40min walk (km) to Marine Parade and all the Art Deco buildings

A bit cheek by jowl with cars but it’s a carpark so that is to be expected

This is a fantastically scenic location right at the famous Napier giant chairs, close to restaurants & bars plus nice clean toilets too.

Downside is that given its great location it’s popular and busy with all kinds of visitors… you might even get the full volume heavy metal playing BMW 3 series at 730am as we did. Not quite the morning alarm we planned, but we needed to wake up and hey, we all do our Monday mornings differently!

Really lovely place to stay over, right by the beach.

Where you can watch the beautiful sunset and sunrise.

Few shops, cafes and bars nearby.

Just 4 spots for campers so you’ll need to be early. We arrived at 1pm and there was just one space left.

Awesome spot, large car park with 4 self contained vehicle spaces and nice views over the water.

Few people around at sunset, but the car park was empty overnight. Toilets were clean 👌

Just a small car park, with 4 car spaces for campervans.

Beside the water but not exactly scenic, we were unsure why this spot had such a high rating. As soon as night fell a bunch of loud boy racer cars turned up and the people were loud, having some sort of car meet. There are toilets, but that’s about it. Wouldn’t go back.

Only 4 places so, as others have said, you need to get there early.

Great location, fabulous views, very well maintained toilets are close to the self contained bays. There is also free wifi, although not consistent.

Cafes, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Great place to stay if you get a spot, only 4 spaces and we were lucky enough to get one.

Toilet is very nice and clean, outside shower, and free wifi. Beautiful sunrises and sunset!! And close to pubs on the Harbour. 10/10 spot.

2 Bathrooms. Plus an outdoor beach shower. Walk to multiple restaurants, a cafe and an ice cream shop. Fantastic playground too. Got the last spot at 4:30pm.

A lovely location right on the beach (sunrise was pretty) and with plenty of space for a kick-about with a football.

Public toilets are clean. Some noise from a gathering during the evening but not a problem. Two places to eat within walking distance; one cafe, one restaurant. Probably drive into Napier town rather than walk from here.

    About 10 other vans here.

Close to the sea, oh yes on three sides, quiet, plenty of restaurants near by and best of all for us is the Hawkes bay canoe club for going out with the club and canoeing and kayaking.

Being a point there was water around 3 sides of us.

There was one other van parked but room for a least 10 if needed. The toilets seemed clean enough. Very handy to town.
