Lots of spots.
Chill vibes. Big ones for trailers. Nice table seating picnic area close by. Great pump track. Ran it- didn’t have bike/ board- but ran that thang. It was sick! Got some speed.
The walk on the sidewalk was so pleasant early morning. No one around besides a few people. A cute old woman said “what a day we’re having am I right?” And that explained the vibe perfectly.
Coffee shop in a trailor about 20 min walk from the spot. Good coffee.
Nice free place in a trippy town, with not much to do when there’s no waves, Napier. Thx.

8thMay24.
2 adults in motorhome.
Good location and good facilities as described by others.
As well as being close to the road there is also a railway line the other side of the road. Lots of rail line crossings so bells and train noises sometimes.
A shortish walk to the Sea Life Centre. That’s worth a visit, a cafe and decent toilets!
Dump station and fresh water too, all for nothing.
Would have been a 10 if further away from the road.

Great place to camp.
Loads of spaces, clean toilet, dump station and fresh water, and right by the sea - about 3k walk into town - what more could you want?!

Nice parking area with cool view of the bay, lots of spots, 2 toilets, one outside cold shower, everything was rather clean.
Some noise from the road at night but still could sleep well. 20 minutes walking from the city centre, perfect location!

Rated a 10 for a spot along the shore.
The second row is tight and the third row abuts the dump station. But if you can snag a spot along the beach walkway. Then you are in for a real treat with fantastic views! Special shout out to that anonymous fellow camper who upon departure asked us if we wanted there beachfront parking space. Awesome.

Decent spot with water and a dump station provided.
The toilets were acceptable, but we felt a bit uneasy due to the people around us. Several spots were vacated during the night. The location isn't the best, as it's too far from the center, but it's right next to the ocean.

It’s mainly a car park - lots of spaces at least.
Can hear noise from the road and plenty of people arriving in the morning for general car park use. Toilet okay, door a bit janky. Didn’t use the cold shower but I like that it’s an option.

Solid spot for a first-time overnight in a campervan.
Very close to town for the supermarket etc. and walking distance to a lot of shops, cafes, and things to do. Decent toilets, dump station, and drinking water all available. Arrived at 1930 with still plenty of spots, though it did fill up overnight. If you’re a sensitive sleeper, be aware that there is a bit of noise from the road and the train tracks throughout the night.

Could do with more like this across the country.
2 proper flushing toilets open all night and very clean.
Water supply and dump station.
Space for over 20 large campers.
Patrolled by council.
Great view of Pacific ocean
Pretty quite but you might hear the occasional freight train.

Great spot, fairly level and right on the beach.
Toilets very clean and well kept. Warden checks to see all vehicles are certified self contained. Walking distance to the NZ Aquarium that is worth a visit. We stayed on a Tuesday night and it was quite and peaceful.

**WARNING - thefts come at night.
Had our bike picked apart last night (2/6/2020) even though it was locked up on our bike rack. Tire stolen and they also attempted to pull off rear tire. They know what they are doing and are quick. By the time we looked out the window they were gone. Others reported stolen items. Please be aware and bring front tires inside or lock up if you have a bike. Also saw a drug deal in the in the morning - not the best experience for our 5 yr old. Nice view and good bathroom though. Also has dump station and rubbish bins.

Excellent position view out to sea.
Lovely especially waking to this. Water toilet & dump station. 20-25 min walk into town.
For a free camp better than some, right next to beach, superb. Clean tidy & all campers respectful of each other. Council & police monitor site. 👍

Great for a free site.
Beautiful view, convenient location. Basic toilet, water tap and what looked like a dump station? Right next to a main road and freight train goes through occasionally throughout the night. You’ll need to get in pretty early to get the primo spots along the beach!
