Nice place to stay right next to the river mouth.

Close drive to Gore Bay, beautiful sunrises. $10 per night per site. Toilets were clean. Sites marked out clearly.

Quiet spot in a well maintained, grassy and level picnic area next to the river.

Good access even for larger vans. Toilets are clean. Well worth the $10/night for the local community that provides maintenance. No shops in town but great coffee on the highway 16 km away at the Fossil Cafe. The Cafe owner lives close to the campground.

Very nice spot - right by the river.

A good 25 minutes walk to the beach. We spotted whales from the top of the cliff nearby. We had a very relaxed 1 night stay here. The sites are rather small, we ended up parking our large camper over two sites, but it was very quiet in October, so no problem. No cellphone coverage at the site.

Off the beaten trail a bit.

Small but amazing views of river running into the sea surrounded by farmland on otherside. Quiet only one other campervan in September. Bathrooms were filthy. And we did not use water but it was only $8 to park for a night and rest to continue our drive.

Awesome little campsite, with a beautiful view of the river.

Not many people here during our stay, and it was lovely. Nice bench to sit on and enjoy some wine just outside the camping area, as well as a nice light hike up the road. Would stay here again.

Nice spot near the river with a bank in between the sea.

I guess the rates change everytime coz when we were there we were charged $2 each. The camp was packed when we were there and was also tricky to find. Still a nice spot with toilets and running water.

Previous info is incorrect...$8 per site per night so well worth it.

DoGS ALLOwED under control, toilet block, running water very basic but clean, unkempt sites and tenting may be difficult on some sites, AWESOMESpot with great views on the walks

Poor facilities, but okay at $8 per site per night.

Nice location by the river, v peaceful.

Toilets facilities were filthy. Sinks blocked with leaf litter etc, made me wonder where the (albeit small, $8 for 2 adults) fee 'for maintainance' was going exactly. Maybe its a different story in summer.

Nice small campground located at the Hurunui Village Vineyard - very friendly owners, very clean and a must-do to escape all franchised options.

    Nice and natural.

For $5 you get all the space you want. But don't expect too many facilities except for drinkable water and some old toilets.
