Stayed for one night, while we planned to go diving Poor Knights islands the next day.
The boat leaves from Tutukaka which was a 5 minute drive. We arrived early in the afternoon, and enjoyed the bay while we were the only ones who stayed there. Later in the evening 2 others arrived. If parked nicely 4 perhaps 5 vans will fit. Toilets are good, and were cleaned in the morning.

If there is heaps of space, DO NOT park right next to another camper.
It's selfish and I will crank my music until you leave. Just had to do that now and they just left

Very popular.
Fills up early. They do come around and check you are in the allocated location. A bunch of people had to be moved for parking in the wrong spot. Good toilets, beautiful view. Great close place to Tutukaka. Highly recommend for a night.

First Freedom Camping spot we stayed at and we were SO happy.
Absolutely lovely bay with rock sand beach. Secluded area, so way less people. Enough room for 5 vans in the area. Basic toilets present, no other amenities. Would definitely recommend as this site was so beautiful and peaceful. Get there before 3 or 4pm if you're hoping to get a spot

Wonderful free camping spot in a calm bay.
We even heard Kiwis at night. Amazing bays and beaches around in a 15 min drive.
We give only 9 stars, because the female toilet was blocked.
End of May all 5 spots were occupied.
We can highly reccomend to stay here

We would have loved to stay here but it was already full at 4pm.
It’s beautiful but the designated camping spot is really small and the vans were all parked really close together. Nice place to stop for the day though.
