Ok for a night but very close to a busy road (it quiets down at night but traffic starts up again pretty early.

Signage also extremely unclear about which sites freedom camping vehicles are allowed in - it says park between the arrows but there is only one arrow! The council website also specifically says 2 vehicles allowed but there are 3 spaces adjacent to the sign. We parked in the middle one just to be safe but never saw any enforcement staff. Also didn't notice the washrooms being locked at night since we went to bed early however they were unlocked early in the morning. The walk from here to the falls and Kauri trees was enjoyable and mostly level.

    First experience of freedom camping.

This was exactly as reviews described, a few spaces in a car park at a reserve. Toilets available all night and well maintained. Excellent for a one night stop and then a good walk to the falls the next morning. The only slight downside was that the spaces are right next to the road …. But what do you expect for free!

The falls and the walk through the woods are beautiful, so it’s worth staying here just for that.

Toilets were clean, didn’t use them overnight but read from other reviews that they close. Water available from the tap/fountain next to the toilets. As others have said the plots are on a bit of a slope, and the road can be noisy late into the night. But despite that we still had a lovely stay!

Enough space for 2 camper vans.

random drive-by vehicles in and around car park.

Kept setting the dogs off barking in neighbouring houses

Nice little spot next to the waterfall, you can do the waterfall hike in the morning only takes about 30/1 hr.

Toilets that do get locked at night and clean water. Is next to a main road, does get busy quickly and there are mozzies so bring bug spray!

Excellent little park with great canopy walk through Kauri forest.

By side of the road but only slight traffic. Quiet at night. Busy park during the day.

    Great spot.

Even though it’s beside the road still quite at night. Beautiful jungle walk. Some houses nearby. Felt Preety safe. It was just the toilet which gets locked at night. But was clean. Drinking water available at site. We enjoyed our stay.

Just off the road (but not overly noisy), clean flushing toilette, set in the parkinglot of a lovely little walk featuring 500 yr old Kauri trees, a little river, creek, and a waterfall or 2 depending

on how much time you'd like to spend.

Ups: Clean place, 3 spots for SC Camers, two toilets which were pretty clean but get locked at 10pm and reopend in the morning (6:30 am was we checked).

Down: pretty noisy since directly next to a road. No great view or anything like we hat at some sites close to the sea.

Pretty much what you expect for a free spot downtown.

    Pretty much

In the morning around 8am they were open. Drinking water available all night.

Lovely spot but the toilets close in the evening so not suitable for non self contained!!!

Very annoying!! Also the parking is at a slight hill so might be a wonky nights sleep

3 spaces for overnight that are on slightly uneven ground which is why we are givi Nd it a 9 out of 10 instead of 10.

Flush toilets, water fountain, garbage can, and great walk to the falls and tree canopy so be sure to plan enough time to go for a walk while you stay here!

Very good, toilets well maintained and an amazing walk to the falls just on the doorstep.

3 spaces to stay in for any type of vehicle. Would recommend.

Great secluded spot for 3 vehicles- non-self contained accepted here.

Clean public toilets and fresh drinking water. Would recommend making time to walk around the forest and see the waterfalls- beautiful!
