Just a carpark next to a roundabout, a bit noisy during the night.
But fine for one night. Next to the drawnbridge. There are clean flush toilets and drinkable water fountain. Only space for 8 campervans but there were definetly more than that.

Stayed here for one night while visiting friends in the town basin.
Was perfect for that. Like most freedom sites in towns, it is a car park with public toilets. But toilets were clean and open all night, small bins for rubbish and fairly quiet. 20 min walk from town basin.

- Good location for shopping, riverside walk etc.
Pros
- 8 angled, mostly level, long spaces
- short walk to the mall, handy to sports fields (rugby and cricket) and riverwalk
Cons
- For long vehicles/caravans, the spaces are angled the wrong way to exit easily
- Spaces are standard carpark wide (ie just enough room for you to open your door if you're skinny), so not ideal for wide vehicles
Opinion
- Get there by mid afternoon (winter) if you don't want to miss out (earlier in summer)
- Overall a really good location if you don't mind road noise and are in a motorhome/campervan, doable (but difficult) with a caravan

Lots of space for big and small vehicles.
Toilets were clean and water fountain was handy. Close to walk into town and see the sights. CSC officer was lovely and explained the rules of Self Containment parking (can be anywhere you want, unless specifically stating no camping). Lots of very bad drivers in this town, they do not understand how to release the clutch so end up revving and squeeling tyers far too much making this spot quite loud up till about 10pm when it is their bed time. Safe and OK for 1 night but not very scenic, just a city vibe.

Not quite sure why previous reviews are so positive.
This seems like literally just a car park in a retail estate. Limited spaces so there was nowhere for us to camp anyway. I-Site In morningside far nicer and more space :)

Scored last place of I believe 6 spots in a huge car park.
Next to the road over the bridge so a bit noisy. Clean toilets nearby.
Can't believe the council is so stingy with freecamp spots around here. The whole car park was empty but only a few spots for campervans.

Beautiful spot!
It's quiet, the people are nice and the toilets are clean. Additionally, there's free wifi if you're lucky.

24 hour flush toilet, reasonably quiet when close to road.
We scored last space at 8pm, winter. 5 min to city, thank the council and stay within the signs.
