Awesome spot near the beach (perfect for sunrise) !

Clean toilet, cold shower - really quiet location.

Nice camping area with about 10-15 spaces.

Just need a minute to the beach. Toilets and showers are provided, common beach for surfers. It’s really quite at night, same for the day.

The only thing is that the overnight camping is prohibited through summer season (3rd week of December- end of march)

A good spot close to the beach and walking distance to the main town.

Toilets are good. Only downside is someone was loudly playing music from 11 until some point in the morning but I’m sure this isn’t every night…

    I’ll be back

A lovely campsite close to the sea and with excellent facilities nearby.

This was our favourite place to stay on our North Island trip. Between being located in a residential area and next to a relatively busy beach, we felt safe and comfortable for the duration of our stay here.

Clean quiet and safe spot surrounded by houses.

Right near the beach and the facilities were great - clean toilet and recycling and rubbish bins. A security guard came past just to check we were self contained. We even heard kiwi at night!

Very nice spot, crowded during the day with surfers and beach goers but quiet at night.

Tidy toilets and a cold shower useful after a dip in the salty sea!

Plenty of space and right next to the beach. Tidy toilets nearby which are open all day and night.

    Best carpark so far!

Many spots, 2 toilet cabins per gender (1 suitable for wheelchair), an area with a ceiling (perfect for rainy evenings) with view of the beach and sea and an outside shower (normally for the surfers but you can take a normal one aswell), really nice hiking treck to the beach over the hill, dump station and possibility to get your water changed.

A quiet place, away from the busy part of Whakatane!

Situated at the very end (or beginning) of Ohope Beach.

Designated area for campervans is a little bit off the beach next to a forrest, but has place for 15 vehicles. Between the parking area and the beach is a public toilet, so no beach view. Toilet is under reconstruction at the time of writing (9 Dec 17), meanwhile 3 well maintained Dixie's are installed nearby.

Park benches next to forrest and the beach give plenty of space for eating. Very quiet.
