Really nice for a free park!

Clean toilets open all night (I’m pretty sure) tucked out of the way from the main road. Local kids use it as a dirt track during the day but quiet at night.

Very quiet probably as SH1 is closed.

Toilets were clean. Park is under beautiful big oak tree. Says 4 parks but would be very tight. Close to a couple of nice cafes. Home made pies were good.

Quiet little place for 4 vehicles, toilets were cleaned in the evening.

Town center with small shops in 3min walking distance.

    Small Campsite.

There is a Picnictable and facilities but no drinking water. You can park in the shadow of a huge tree. The parking spot is a bit slight slope. Cute shops close by.

    Very quite little place.

Says max 4 - a bit of a squeeze to get that may campers in, especially if people aren't considerate parkers! Toilets are alright, they clean with loo roll!

Attempted to stay here but we were the only camper and there seemed to be an altrication between people who arrived by car.

Toilets were clean but seemed to be locked overnight.

Small paved area in a small town.

Toilets, picnic table. Was the only one there but area can fit maybe 3? Friendly locals for the most part but you can hear the highway

Easy to find, small car park with toilet block and picnic table.

2 vans taking up most space when I arrived but I fit in. Quiet most of the night except someone dropping rubbish off at 5am.

(Feb 2022) 4 or 5 spaces available with toilets a very short walk away, lite throughout the night.

Did not feel 100% safe during the night due to people driving fast around us and into the campsite.

    We really enjoyed this spot!

It’s a level, paved car park with room for 4 campers at a time, maximum stay of 24 hours according to signage. There’s public toilets that are open all night & a picnic table. There are nice trees and park area beside it, could be good if you’ve got kids with you who need space to run around. The main street of Ohaikau to the left of the entrance is a nice area to walk around with a cafe, takeaway place, butchery, etc.

This was our first attempt at freedom camping.

Wasn't great. Woken at 2am by car playing loud music using toilets and hanging about. Then woken again at 5.30 by another car blasting their music and then a guy just proceeded to shout/scream for the following 40 mins. Freaked the kids out and we were all v tired the next day. Wouldn't stay here again.

The campsite was quite small...we arrived after 9pm and there were already 6 campervans though we squeezed on the end (we only realised in the morning there was a sign stating max 4) Toilets were alright

though the light in the men’s bathroom didn’t work...

    Nice and quiet spot.

We stayed there for two nights. The toilets are clean and stay open during the night. Additionally, there's a little supermarket across the street. We had no trouble. There's not much to do tho.

Area was quite nice, but the lake near by wasn’t really worth the walk to go and look at, there’s also a small butchery/dairy near by and the toilets were a bit cold but clean and had toilet seats.

    Very nice for free camping

Nothing much to say as its only really a car park for 4 vans (not 2).

There are clean toilets but no main door so can be cold. There is a picnic bench also. Seemed to be a walk through area during the day for people. Happy its available as it is a free site so thanks. If you want to see what it looks like, you can watch our video review on youtube, just search the camp site name and 'The Flip Flop Family'
