Peaceful spot next to the river with trees for shelter.
The river was swift and wide but shallow so myself and my 10 year old were able to wade to the other side. Tricky to get the caravan flat so bring your levelling gadgets. Busy on Martinborough fair weekend but plenty of room for everyone.

Spent Waitangi weekend there.
Very busy site. About 80 people of all ages. Estimate around 20 motorhomes and caravans . This was a great weekend. No problems with other campers (we were in self contained motorhomes) as it was largely peaceful and friendly. Overall a beautiful site by the river - we'll go again. Good protection from the weather among the trees. Phone ahead - we paid $5 per person per night - well worth it.

Nice campsite with no facilities - rural setting (some animal poo around) beside the Ruamahanga River with shade from manuka or kanuka trees.
Phone ahead if you want to camp.
