It is not clear where you can park correctly so be careful as many people are just parking wherever in the car park.

There is a section for 2 Campervans outlined on the floor in the car park. It says it is only for 2 even though it fits 3 but I suspect you wouldn’t be able to argue this with an official. Toilets are lovely but I think they are locked when the enterance gate is locked (10pm) and opened in the morning. Extremely windy in May to the point our van was shaking the entire night and seagulls woke us up at 6am but overall, pleasant enough. Had much worse camping spots

Perfect for a one night stay.

Gates are locked, for us at 10pm in summer (March 23)

Sites are clearly marked so easy to find not sure why previous reviewer couldn't find them.

    Toilets were also locked.

The spot felt really safe and was quiet. Lovely spot by the water

There are three spots here, one is further down closer to the toilets but we stayed in the ones further up in the main car park.

It’s right by the beach and in a nice big park bit busy during the day but was quiet at night. Two sets of toilets both clean and can have a lovely walk along the beach.

Why is there no information about where the designated areas are???

Be very careful people- it’s a $200 fine if you get that wrong!

    Very scenic and open space.

There’s 3 lots total one close to toilet which is awesome. The other two are at the carpark. All beachfront but not open for Saturday and Sunday.

Wow awesome spot with beautiful views, fields for sport and an awesome playground for the kids.

There are two designated spots as you turn right into the carpark the third is further down the path by the second block of toilets. Views of Mt Manganui from the park. Very peacful and quiet at night, surrounding neighbourhood looks nice too. Highly recommend.

    Beautiful spot.

But BE AWARE...the city council pay First Security to police the site nightly at 12. So...if you’re self contained...but did it yourself... but decide to risk it anyway...because who’s going to know....the lack of that little blue sticker will cost you $200. There is claimed parking for 3 vehicles...I’d call it 2...and your close enough to touch doors. And if the first vehicle in takes a bit extra...and you just slide in next to it beside the zone...your parked illegally...$200.

    So...great spot...24hr toilets...and super strict policing.

For 1st time freedom campers this was our 1st 'freedom camping spot' and absolutely pleased this was an option.

Got there early avo, very windy so perfect for kite surfers(and there were plenty on the water) so we got to watch that. You have to go all the way to the end to turn your campervan tho. Kids had after school sports activities which was fun to watch(made us miss our granddaughter). Beautiful view of the ocean, clean toilets, very clean park except someone didn't pick up their dog shit which was on the lawn right where the designated area is(as there's only 3 designated areas for self contained vehicles. Gates are locked which we were happy with especially given the fact we're 1st timers. Wake up to lots of people exercising in the morning and cool breeze to offset the hot early morning sun.

3 overnight spots, we had the place to ourselves.

Toilets are nice but do get locked in the evening.

Good for a quick stop over.

Situated in the carpark of a sports centre/park on the water.

There are toilets which are locked overnight. Only 3 spots, 2 in the actual car park and 1 further down closer to the water. These are all clearly marked. Overall convenient overnight spot

Just a little out of town and next to the sea (tidal inlet).

There's a good playground. Fergusson Park is a busy little place with locals, so it's unlikely that you'll get it to yourself. Very pleasant spot.
