  • Second time staying here great open space.

    Toilets and dump station

  • Beautiful spot with a playground.

Also, a stream passing by. We had some shouting and cars spinning. Toilets were locked due to vandalism.

  • We stayed one night, really loved this place!

There is by a big field. We parked close to the playground and toilets. There is also a bbq, potable water and rubbish bins.

We haven’t found the shower that other people named, but still a 10/10!

We saw community patrol checking the are as well.

    Felt safe and quiet.

  • Near a sports field, planty of space.

Toilets, maybe a longer walk when you don't park nearby. Clean though. For 1 night it's a good spot to stay.

  • Lots of space in a big park beside river.

Toilet block 200m away with fresh water. Very quiet. Nice walking tracks.

  • Stayed here on way down to Wellington.

Was a last minute decision to stay and so glad we did.

A beautiful spot with loads of space, access to the river, toilets & dump station. Quiet and a beautiful sunset view.

Easy to find and access. Would highly recommend

  • We stayed one night here on our way through going south nice place to stay little bays surrounded by trees where you can park your campervan couldn't see a toilet nearby no water supply or any other

facilities sports ground in front of where we parked for the night and a lot of families came along and had sports games which was quite entertaining fairly quiet in the night all-in-all not a bad place to stay

  • Says no water and no dump station in the Rankers app but there is.

Great spot, lots of room, playground, bike pump track, football fields, river, sites with trees in between for privacy, rubbish bins, toilets.

  • I frequently stay here with my caravan.

It's a lovely spot to get away in. There are newish toilets behind the playgrounds at Simon St. end now. Some parking bays can be a bit muddy after rain.

You can stay 3 nights not 2 but a lot of campers stay a lot longer.

  • Nice site for a stopover.

Plenty camping spots between the river and the field.

Good flushing toilets at the Campbell Rd end. Drinking water available as well as a dump site.

  • Great free park - thank you Feilding.

Obviously popular with caravaning/ motor home people but lots of places to park, near the river, or looking over a field. Fairly private, some trees. Good flush toilets close to the Campbell St entrance. Great spot if passing through.

  • Beautiful spot to park up for a night or two.

Lots of trees for shade and plenty of space. There are public toilets at the Campbell St end and also a dump station which was an added bonus. Great spot.

  • Lovely park to camp up at.

Lots of space and toilets available 24/7. Also lots of rubbish bins around the park so please do not leave litter. Dump station and potable water on entry to the park. No complaints at all.

  • Nice place to sleep, I came here after feeling unsafe in the free campsite in Palmerston North.

This one had more people and there’s plenty of space even 24h toilets pretty clean.
