Lots of space right by the beach.

Beautiful location. Reasonable toilets. Value for money rather than luxury but worth a stop

Beautiful spot, next to the black sanded beach.

Clean toilets. Very windy, so we parked our car behind some bushes close to the toilets. We paid $11 via the council's website. Many spots to choose from.

Stayed the night for the Sept long weekend.

Huge domain, loads of places to park, very quiet off season. 3 toilets, all very clean and well lit at night. A communal BBQ and clean water, not that we used. Grass was very wet in parts so much sure you check before you drive. We tucked up our little van behind a small hill as it was quite windy and it gave us some relief from the wind gusts. Nice walking on the beach and spotted two seals. Our dog Neipa loved it and no issues with other dogs around. Lots of quad bikes but they stop at night. Conflicting signs but we paid $11 a night to the district council per their website. Worth it for a wee break away and fair price given that the council makes it available.

Great facilities and plenty of space, right on the beach and only a short drive from the main highway, can be exposed in high winds but a few good spots to tuck out of wind.

    Outstanding spot.

Dump station, plenty of room and the fishing is good. Well done South Taranaki District Council and the local custodians.

Great camp, with clean toilets ,dump station, fresh water, and big area to find a place to park, all for $10 a site.

Lovely friendly local couple collected the fees. It worked out a great place to stay for three nights on our North Island trip!!

Pros: beautiful beach, incredible sunset and moonrise and then sunrise the next morning, found a nice private spot for our tent.

Cons: EXTREMELY windy- nearly collapsed the tent! Not much shelter. There were LOTS of camper-vans, which is always a bit awkward when you're in a tent.

Bathrooms/taps are very basic, so be prepared for that.

Toilet facilities and water were good and clean.

Location was lovely and the sunset views over the beach and sea stunning. Only $10 per pitch peak season.

Great place, wonderful views and big camping area.

Modern toilets and a sink next to the toilet block for washing your dishes but no light in buildings except for a big lantern.

Price: 5 $ per site (winter), 10 $ per site (summer)

Very nice spot just in front of the local settlement.

Clean/Modern toilets, Multiple large refuse bins for campers' rubbish, Multiple fresh water taps. When we were here, there were approximately 12 campervans/buses and several smaller tents and caravans and there was still a huge amount of space available. There is not a lot of flat area, so levels/chocks required for vehicles. Can get quite windy on some days, but park/setup accordingly. Awesome beach. Great area and not too far off the main highway. The road from the main highway is sealed all the way to the camp ground. Stock up on food etc because we could not locate much in the way of local supplies.

Apart from two abandoned old buses taking up good flat sites, its a good camp by a lovely beach, can get a little windy though.

Very clean toilet facilities. By the way its not free, $5 per night.
