Needed power for the night, so the free one wasn‘t an option.
Bit on the pricey side, but was welcomed very nicely. Facilities are spotless, lots of showers and toilets and sinks. Big kitchen, a lot of bins to separate your trash and right on the beach with beautiful sights of the area and lighthouse. I opted to not pay more to be on the beach with my camper and very glad I did. I got a nice grassy side, protected by fences which was nice since it was a bit stormy. Wasn‘t many people around my spot (most opted for the beach side) so I got the quietest night in quite a while and loved every second of it!
Got some free wifi, but didn‘t work on my phone, didn‘t bother me, but just so you know there is wifi if you need it!

Expensive compared to other spots.
Dryer is a rip off. Pay $3 for 40 mins, but stops after 17 mins. Happened to 2 other people. Leaving clothes as damp as when they were removed from the washing machine. Camp sites are uneven leaving you sleeping awkwardly. If you can use the free camp site which is in a better place. Less windy at the free site too. WiFi also costs extra.

Great camp ground.
Great camp ground. We were right by the beach with our caravan. beautiful view of the lighthouse day and night. The amenities were very clean and usable. Shower takes 50c for 5 minutes, loads of hot water.
We wanted to stay out there for the whole day after check out time, but we had our caravan that would have been annoying. The camp owners said we could park it in their boat paddock for the day free of charge, and we were welcome to come back during the day and use the facilities if we wanted.
We highly recommend this camp ground

Stayed on a powered beach front site, looking right at the Lighthouse.
Perfect. Was pretty windy when we arrived but the next day was sunny and calm. An amazing spot to stay, metres from the beach. Facilities were good, 50 c for 5 min hot showers. Sites were easily big enough for caravan and ute. Totally recommend.

I can not understand whingers that cry on about camp fees, hey if you’re that poor go camp in a farmers paddock, I’m pleased I don’t have you for a neighbour. Get over it

Really expensive for a big family backpacking.
Paid $70 then had to pay for a shower on top. Facilities clean and has a paid laundry. Big equipped kitchen with fridges and a lounge room. So windy we couldn't walk to the beach. Sites quite sheltered though. Grassy and has a bbq area. Probably wouldn't stay again due to the price.

Overpriced, nice enough setting and provides some wind protection but $45 for two people to camp on a patch of grass is too much, unfortunately no other options nearby to camp.

Overpriced and overcrowded.
Price classification for this campsite is definitely wrong. It should be 20$+.
We had no other choice and had to pay the cheapest option 22.5$pp. 45$ all together for one night in our own tent is the most we had to pay our whole holidays.
We were there on Waitangi weekend and the campsite was packed.
The only positive thing about the campsite is the location.

A well run commercial holiday park.
We needed the wind breaks provided as it as blustery and winds reached 130kph. the views were stunning and the beach walks serene. Too windy the first night to make it up to the lighthouse, but made it on the second night. The couple running the site are very friendly and helpful. Water is provided at every lot, very handy. Have fun!

Can only review on price so not that good, $16.50pp for a non powered site.
Checked in late (11pm) owner somewhat friendly seeing how late it was! Left early only used the toilet. You do have to pay 50c for the shower I saw. Was very tidy and clean though.
