Todd & Nola Morgan
Park Hosts
The Morgan family has run Ohiwa Beach Holiday Park since its inception in 1988/1989. In late 2000 my husband Todd and our children, Dean and Renae arrived at the park. With time and a lot of hard work, the park has been built up to have full facilities for camping and a selection of units.
We made a commitment to be responsible for this special piece of Ohiwa for future generations. We have been rewarded with several awards for sustainable business practices which are still in place today.

Beautiful remote spot, directly on the beach, very relaxing and friendly with amazing views from the rustic, clean kitchen:-) make sure you ask for a Seaview site, so worth it!
Kids loved the swimming pool, bouncy pillow and go carts, Ruby, our dog, enjoyed running on the beach, we definitely will be back!

Absolutely gorgeous spot right on the beach.
Not crowded despite it being school holidays. We had planned to stay only one night but extended to 2. We really enjoyed the night bush walk to see the glow worms!

We watched the Gabrielle trajectory forecasts and headed for this lovely place to sit it out in our rented camper van.
No hardship! Peaceful and well-spaced sites, even when it was busy at first. Wonderful managers who gave everyone TLC through the storm and are just great people. Clean toilets and showers, some basics available in the office, most sites are sheltered by the treed hill, and of course, you have the lovely beach, fishing and surf. A good walk up to the Pa above the camp to commune with sheep and cows. Highly recommended.

This was our first visit to this camp and we were delighted.
We visited with our Campervan and had a Power site overlooking the sea. The property is wonderfully situated right on the beach, its location is quite a remote area making this a quiet relaxing site. Although we didn't try it ourselves it's obvious that there is good fishing from the beach. Facilities are spotlessly cleaned and maintained. Showers are 50c for 5 minutes so remember to bring actual coins with you. We will certainly be back.

This is our third or fourth time staying 😁Just the two of us a couple of times then our two youngest children with us the next time, then our adults kids this time along with our mokos, and my parents
, brother, his wife and our nieces on the last night of our stay.
I recommend the showers around the beach side they're more modern than the older ones near the games room. We stayed in the basic kitchen cabin which was great. Pool wasn't heated (was advised on the booking) but the kids still braved the dip! We went to see the glow worms that was stunning and only a short walk in the ngahere. 🌳🌿Toilets and showers are always clean as in the cabins. My only concern is that there is no hand towels or air dryer to hygienically dry your hands in the camp toilets.
The proprietors are always lovely and of course the location is stunning.
We will be back as usual :)

Hi. We stayed here just after the Ester rush had all left - what lucky day!
The place was nicely active and friendly. We requested to park right up front by the dunes, which was awesome to wake up to that. We liked it so much, we stayed an extra night.
Got recommended by the office person to walk up the track behind the camp which we did. Nice walk. There is a heated pool at the camp too.
Nicely surprised to see they welcome DOGS here. And have an area by the dunes especially for camping dogs, so we will be back with our guy, who had to stay behind... : (
The place is clean and well kept, I can see why they get so many good reviews.
Keep up the good work guys : )

Love Ohiwa holiday park, this is our 2nd stay and will be back next year, Close to the beach making it easy to swim everyday, we decided to stay an extra 2 days with friends and had to move to a non powered
site, which was fine as we are fully S.C but didn’t like being charged the same for a tent site as a powered site!

We have stayed in many holiday camps all over NZ and this was by far the best!!
Everyone was so helpful and friendly including the grounds and cleaning team. The rooms and the camp toilets were very clean (as we stayed in the cabin and then the tourist flat) and the camp grounds were immaculate. The beach was just on the door step too!

Amazing dedicated staff made our weekend special, thank you!
The facilities are incredible, clean and the views to enjoy whilst eating, drinking and relaxing. Ohiwa Beach Holiday Park is definitely a recommend from us and we'll book again. The Onekawa pa site is a must to do and down to Bryan's Beach and then either walk along the beach back to the camp ground or turn around and walk and enjoy the bush, birds, and gorgeous views again from another angle back to camp.
