Lovely safe spot, right next to beach, lovely walk down beach near by, right next to a pre school so busy on a morning

If there were bathrooms on the site it would definitely be a 10.
Beautiful view, by the sea, quiet neighbourhood, tables to eat and only 2 spots. You need to get there early in the summer. It was full by 15:30 on the day we got there. Definitely one of our favourite camping in Nz.

This site was full, however we checked out the next bay over, Algies Bay Reserve and it's absolutely beautiful.
Toilets are closed 7pm-6am. As mentioned in other review, this SC site isn't on Rankers. There are 3 spots for SC vehicles

Really cool spot alongside the beach.
We went there because the other spot was already full but we ended UP being super happy to be in this one as it was more quiet. All the facilities (toilets and shower) were in the other one but it's only a 5 minute-walk so it didn't matter much. The area itself is super peaceful, there are many people walking their dogs or just families playing, it felt really safe.

Good spot for the night but no nearby toilets (even if you can use those in your vehicle).
I advise you to continue to Algier Bay, you will find 3 places reserved for self contained. Very nice view, picnic tables, toilets and outdoor shower

The one with the toilet further down the coast is indeed no longer allowed.
But a bit even further (Algiers Bay) there are 3 Self contained vehicle spots (clearly marked) where you can stay 2 nights. There's a public toilet with outside shower. Parking spots are on an incline though.

Nice spot, very windy but could imagine in summer weather it would be lovely.
No toilets so we drove to the next beach front car park (we’re not lazy - due to awful weather) where there was some and this was also a freedom camp spot which is not advertised on this app. Would recommend this one over the other purely as it has the toilets.
