We called the day before our arrival to confirm our stay and the courtesy ride to the hobbiton tour departure, all seemed well, we arrived around 10:30am and tried to call and text but there is very poor
cell reception, at 3:10pm we had to leave to make our hobbiton tour in time - still had not heard a word from our hosts. We did not return.

I find a very expensive place for zero accommodation.
I was park in a gravelled yard next to the garage. The owners were kind but did not offer me anything except a 5 minutes conversation. Not asking me if I need something or something else.I leave early in the morning and take my breakfast on an other place

This place is a real gem !
The campground is in a beautifull surrounding, near to Hobbiton but very peacefull, on a small farm. All the animals are as in a petting zoo : sheep, chickens, cows, a goat and turtles. The hosts Lynne and Graeme are the best feature of the campground : they are so nice and welcoming it feels like they are old friends. Lynne also serves a very nice breakfast on request, completely made with farm products (home grown tomatoes, free range eggs, bacon and sausages directly from the farm, etc). She also prepares dinner on request. If you want to go to the evening banquet at Hobbiton, Lynne and Graeme can drive you there and pick you up. We highly recommend this place ! Thank you, Lynne and Graeme for the best camping experience ever !

An unbelievably tranquil place.
The silence apart from nature is a pure pleasure.
It’s like freedom camping with the pleasure of a wonderful host and breakfast.
Lynn was most welcoming, telling us everything about her beautiful animals.
We also enjoyed a very tasty breakfast - far to much food for us :-)
Even had the chance to do some stargazing, before the clouds came in.
I should also mention the very short drive to hobbitton.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay for a quiet night if heading to Hobbiton.
Lynne and her family were so welcoming and their farm is stunning. The kids even got to play with Lucky the sheep and their giant goat. Would be sure to top up your water and empty any waste before visiting.

We stayed here as we were going to the Hobbiton tour up the Rd which by the way is not walkable to from this location as there is no shoulder on the road at all.
The owners seem nice but it's very disorganised and there are no facilities of any kind. $40 a night is a Rip off!!
