What a beautiful camp spot, one of our favorite so far and we've done a few.
Space to park around 5/6 vans on the grass, it is truly an amazing area. The beach is 50 meters away, there is a cold shower, clean toilets, bbq and tables. We just loved it here and couldn't recommend more!

Very lovely spot for beeing free.
The shower was very cold because it was in the open. But the view you get from the ocean during showering were all worth it. There is also a shelter to cook under. Would recommend!

Excellent spot, there were five vehicles when I arrived but two of them kindly shifted and made room me.
There are toilets and a cold shower 30 meters away and a bbq and picnic tables.

Great spot next to beach.
Good toilets and fresh water shower. Only fits 5 large campers once people set up awnings, so I asked them to move over and the people were friendly and responsive. Get there early as good spots get taken and chill on the beach for the day or hike the trail.

Looks great, but we are seeing a bunch of “self contained” vehicles show up, loud music playing and the beers have just been brought out….part time.
We are moving on along with another couple of true self contained vehicle!

Great spot, beautiful beach and nice walking track.
Ok facilities. Signs could be clearer about how to park as we ended up getting stuck in the morning between vans all parking different directions and blocking us in but good excuse for a long beach walk :)

A beautiful spot until after dark when it becomes a gathering spot for teenagers and Grubs to blast car stereos and get obnoxiously drunk so don’t expect any serenity.

I enjoyed our night here.
Lot's to do. The walk to Flat Rock is worth a quick wander to look at some cool lava formations. It feels like a great fishing spot, but not much happening on the day we were there. If you're up for it, then get a sweat up by climbing to the summit. Parking arrangements weren't too clear, but the ranger was excellent and explained it all in the morning. Pauanui is a trippy little settlement. Take a drive around and you might see what I mean :)

Wasn't disappointed. Great view. Nice and quiet. Decent toilets. No shower sadly, looks like its been removed. Free bbq area and picnic benches.

Flat car park that is busy during the day.
Toilets & cold shower available. Room for around 8 campers. I’d get here early especially in summer as it’s a lovely spot. Beautiful outlook to the beach, with bush walk right on your doorstep. My husband went fishing on the rocks so there is that to do if that’s your thing!

Fantastic beach & view, amazing to wake up & walk there.
Got the last spot at 7pm.
A few vans parked on grass outside of designated area and were nailed by Coromandel ranger in the morning.

Another cool spot in Pauanui - a Doc walking track also starts from this carpark if you are into seeing the countryside on foot.
Quite a rugged beach - I'm not sure it would be great for swimming but certainly a good vantage point to watch a storm roll in.BBQ and picnic tables for true alfresco summer living
