From Fox township, cross the Fox River and immediately turn left into Glacier View Road.

Continue 3 km to the parking area, toilet and road end. This road is unsuitable for campers (3.2m headroom barrier at road entrance).

European History

The original swing bridge was used on the route to Fox Glacier for early tourists. It was built in 1929 and cost £1,200. The road up the south side was only built in the 1930s and Glacier View Road in the 1940s.
