  • Nice and quiet place.

Toilets quite good. Plenty of parking. Good phone signal.

  • There was no champagne, but it’s beautiful spot nonetheless.

Toilets, bins, and non-drinkable water were also available. Quite close to the highway so expect some traffic noise, although it faded at night.

Overall a great stop over - one night’s camping allowed

  • Great spot, only seven campers so lots of room, traffic was quite at night but starts very early, someone needs to have a talk with those rowers and there extremely loud music first thing in the morning

  • Excellent free spot!

Right on the lake/river. Plenty of space. Clean flush toilets, running water (not drinkable) and rubbish bins

There were 5 campers here and we were all so spread out we felt totally alone, it was heavenly

  • Camped in a tent for one night.

Running water (not safe for drinking), clean flush toilets, and a stunning view. One of the few sites where we woke up to a dry tent due to the light breeze from the lake.

  • Stunning views with great facilities - big washing up sinks & bins.

    Lots of space

Biggest downside is being so close to the highway 👎

    Phone signal: yes

    Sandflies: no

  • Cool spot, dog friendly and service :)) gotta get in early for best spots!

  • We were the only ones there overnight!

Even has a proper loo, recycling bins and hand basins!

A little bit of noise from the road overnight but a brilliant view to wake up to, over the lake.

  • Great place to stay for the night, very quiet and peaceful.

Great views at dusk and sunrise. Has toilets and two large sinks to wash up from dinner

  • Good road access in, two areas to choose from.

Toilets clean, area to wash dishes and there are bins. Although it says no dogs, there were plenty and all well-behaved. Great walk through the water race tunnel to grassed area on other side of road. The smell of thyme is devine. We parked up right next to the water, watched the bikers and runners across the lake on the Dunstan Trail. Although the road is adjacent, the noise was relatively quiet. We had great entertainment all day with families and jet boats, skiers, swimmers. Will definitely return to Champagne Gully.

  • This was lovely with the autumn leaves.

Very few other vans and a great view of the lake. We didn’t hear much if any road noise.

  • This is a great little spot for an overnight stop.

A bit close to the road but not too noisy. We parked by the trees close to the water at the end . Not many others, clean , good flush toilets , wash basins and rubbish bins. Boat ramp and picnic tables.

  • Great location by the lake.

You can see the bike riders on the new Lake Dunston trail. A bit noisy as the road constantly has traffic. Maybe park down on the grass near toilets might be quieter. Rubbish bins there as well.

  • Stayed for one night, toilets were clean and there was running water and sinks to wash dishes.

Next to a main road but surprisingly quiet. Nice place to stop for the night

  • lovely place to stop the night, great view, clean toilets, lovely view right on lake front.

huge potholes in road but plenty of flat ground to park and plenty of space. no one cares about self contained only, there's all sorts here.

  • Great public toilet and recycling units.

Right by the lake. Nice spot but the road noise is constant. There is lots of room, 5 campers last night but all spread out with lots of space between them.

  • Lovely place for a night.

There was 6 other campers there but loads of space for us all. Clean bathrooms and sinks although no drinking water. it's by the road but the cars didn't keep us awake. Beautiful to wake up right beside such a gorgeous lake!

  • Beautiful spot to camp for free.

You can park right next to the reservoir. It is really easy to reach also with big campers. If you are into fishing, this can be done here too. Although the campsite was next to the state highway the traffic noise wasn't too loud. Unfortunately, the public toilets were closed when we arrived. Still we had a great time here.
