Information

Te Kopua Whanau Camping Ground

A very basic camping ground for $15 per person, per night. Situated away from the surf at Ocean Beach. A great place to watch a west coast sunset.

This campground was once known as Riria Kereopa Memorial Drive Camping.

They now have a check-in and booking system at the front gate, similar to the system that DOC uses where you fill-out a form and drop it in the box provided.

  • Everything was good, just since it was after rain, there was quite a lot of water creating large puddles.

There are toilets, showers, facility for washing your dishes.

  • Complicated booking System, a bit unfriendly staff (when paid they send you the enter Code and instructions per message, I kindly asked if they could send it per WhatsApp again, since I didnt receive the

message, the staff was not accomodating and didnt give us a welcomed feeling) and we needed to remind them of change. Much space and clean toilets, but honestly for 15 $ pP, we got much more luxury at other places (unfortunately not in the area, which is why we needed to stay here). Would not do it for that price again

  • Fair price at $ 15 per night.

Place to do your dishes with hot water. Hot shower for an extra $1. Big grass field with lots of big spots. We saw a beautiful sunset there!

  • $15 per person per night.

Pretty nice location close to the beach. You can reserve your spot easily without having to leave your van parked there. The bathroom could use a little TLC but for the price it gave us what we needed. Nice dish washing station as well.

  • Nice clean campsite, 15 bucks a night , bit disappointing the showers cost a $1 for 3 min hot water.

    Staff are excellent

  • This a big camping ground.

It costs 15$ per person and you have water and some sites with power. Just 5 minutes walk from the beach. The reception is open only from 18-19:30.

For one dollar you can get a hot shower. We enjoyed the stay and the personal was very friendly. Suitable for tents, vans or campervans. Only there is not to much shadow, so if gets sunny can be very warm. Otherwise perfect and cheap.

  • Nice and quiet, and big camping ground, so you'll definitely find a spot.

Cold shower is free, warm shower 1$, but it's honestly not worth it cause it's not getting really hot. Easy Check-in at any time. Although a bit dirty, I don't know whether they really clean the facilities.

  • Beware of walking on the airfield in the dark - we got approached by a suspicious man by the raglan tourist park, seemed like he was looking for people walking back to this campsite, as he named it.

Good campsite with toilets and showers ($1 for 3 min)

  • Basic campground about 5 min from town and 5 min from manu bay surf spot.

Check in lady was very nice. Bring cash as my visa did not work. $15 pp for camper with power during Xmas holiday. All good except for noisy campers at about 0300 arguing.

  • Basic campground - it was nice and quiet, next to the beach and 5 minute drive in to town.

It’s $10 pp then $5 surcharge, I think it’s expensive for what it is as the toilets aren’t the cleanest, no hand soap or paper towels and some of the locks were broken. $1 for 3 minutes in the shower, not very clean but hot and good water pressure. There was a good amount of bins provided for rubbish and recycling. Overall good option as there is no freedom camping in Raglan.

Bathrooms were not stocked with anything and no other facilities were available.

  • Decent price, usual campsite facilities, self check in so can arrive whenever, town is walkable (40 mins but nice along the beach) (otherwise, short drive), quiet guests are encouraged

  • Cheap and cheerful place in Raglan.

$10 per person per night plus a $5 per night service fee. Close to the beach. $1 for a 3 minute hot shower, though the toilets weren’t the cleanest.

Lots of spaces when we arrived mid afternoon on a Monday.

  • Very basic, the only shade was taken by permanent campers but it wasn't a problem during my stay.

Clean bathrooms and powerful showers but take a torch after dark. Interesting check-in procedure where you fill out a form, put the form in with a token and cash if you have it ($5 per campsite then $10pp) or you can come back when the office is manned to pay by card. Lovely lady working there and close to town

  • Cheapest place around seeing as you can’t freedom camp in Raglan.

Costs $10 per person per night plus a $5 site fee per night, which was a bit expensive considering what it was. Very basic, just a field, a toilet and some bins. Bathrooms didn’t get cleaned during the time we were there (2 nights) and the showers are $1 for 3 minutes of hot water, which is over priced in my opinion. Nice to see a variety of bins available for different kinds of rubbish. Nice spot, 5 mins drive from the nearest surfing beach. Would go again but only because it’s the cheapest option
