This is a pleasant climb up an old musterers' track above an upland river gorge.The track gives access to open flats. At the head of the flats a silver beech forest by the forks provides an ideal campsite.

    Bring cash to pay at the admission box.

    Site monitored by DOC officer in the early morning. Payed $8 per person. This spot has an amazing view of the lake and mountains. So pretty in the evening. The view of the stars here on a clean night is amazing.

    Lots of elevation gain to being allowing good views of lake and valley, excellent 4 x 4 walking track.
