A 15min walk with big rewards

Grab a latte at the cafe at the top of the Bruce Road, head on past the bottom of the Centennial Chairlift and cruise on up to Meads Wall. This was one of the Lord of the Rings filming location for around 5 weeks for a few different scenes. Take a look over the back into Skippers Canyon and accross to Mt Ngauruhoe - steep sheer cliffs, impressive views for a short walk. Don't leave your children unattended.

Not accessable at the moment due to construction work.

Spectacular views for little effort, do not miss this one.

It's just a short walk up the rock. It took us 15 minutes including photos.

Jaw dropping views for very little effort.

Hold onto your hats (and your kids) the sheer drop over the back of the wall is extreme.

If you are into geology this formation is probably quite exciting for you to see - if not then it still looks cool.

You may see some climbers clambering around on ropes - don't stand directly under them you could end up with lose rock landing on your head.
