    IT’S FREE!

10/10 big open space with huge toilets, washing up sink & even a cute swing. Right by the river through some tall grass which is a blessing because you feel sheltered from the campers as you’re by it.

No phone signal but left and drove up to the picnic area by the junction & got signal there (also stunning spot under the old bridge)

Great little spot by the stream.

It has toilets, BBQ and water. Nice little tree swing as well. There are picnic tables scattered around the area as well. Beautiful well established trees to sit under and enjoy the peace. Dogs are welcome and ours enjoyed a splash in the stream before we left. Will definitely be back to camp before it closes for winter.

Great spot, nice and quiet, plenty of shade under the trees on hot days, very clean toilets, nice river but not a huge swimming hole

    It's gold coin donation place.

Very well maintained, quiet spot. New clean toilets.

Good selection of sunny and shaded sites.

    Definitely would recommend.

High exposure to toxic algae in the river at the time we visited in Jan.

Beside a river open, tree lined places to park/camp.

Whitcliffs is like an English country village. The domain is peaceful and welll kept. Toilets are clean. Sinks and water provided. Picnic tables, bbq available.

There was no charge to stay there.

The site was near a stream with trees and had good toilet facilities.

There has been an update to the domain recently.

The Selwyn council maintains the camp.

Note it is now free !

But with stricter conditions note the signage at the entrance. No dogs, no horses, no fires, no motor bikes or mountain bikes and no smoking.

A nice river and good cover from the wind. Sicon maintain the toilet block and Selwyn council regularly patrols so pretty safe.

    Douche: no.

    Price: free

Location: it’s okay, you’re standing in a little fore

    Insects: no

Wc’s: very good, clean long drop toilet

It's okay for one night. You don't have service for mobile so it's very peaceful

What a lovely spot, nice and peaceful with plenty of space for motorhomes and tents.

The toilets are super clean and there is a sink outside as well.

The river algae is high at the moment so be careful in the river with dogs

Lush, green campsite right beside the river.

Long weekend and still plenty of room. Brand new toilet block - better than my one at home!

Great spot for kids to be wild - rope swings and 'jungle' to fuel the imagination.

Cycled here and found it easy to find and I got some unreal pics in the morning of the sun rising through the long grass by the river.

    Trees give nice shade too.

Awesome place with most of the benefits of the more expensive campground back down the road.

Swimming was great but be aware of algae blooms in peak season as deathly to dogs. Facilities were average and not a lot to do in immediate area so prepare to make your own fun!
