We were the only van in the middle of campervans and motorhomes but it’s a quiet place near toilets and very easy to access.
Perfect for one night on the way to the Coromandel’s.

Quiet noisey.
Rubbish bins and toilets handy. Cheap for power. Busy even in winter

Great stop for camping.
We pulled up and got a powered site. Popped over the the Caltex and paid $5 for the night for the ticket to display on our windscreen which included the power. Dump station and drinking water right beside site too. Great

Free or some 5$ power sites.
Little bit loud but very central! Supermarket right around the corner

Free or $5 to plug in (6 power points - pay at Caltex) is incredibly good value!
Only 50m from State Highway 2, so fairly noisy especially with people parking to use the toilets, and morning businesses opening up across the road. Good base to ride up to Waihi and back on the bike trail. Never realised that Paeroa is the “Antique Capital of NZ” so good for browsing.

Lots of parking space. Public toilets, waste dump, bins. If you want electricity, then pay 5$ at Caltex for powered site. Otherwise free

Highly recommend this spot but get here early to get a powered site which is only $5 per night from Caltex servo.
This let us recharge all the electronics and use of laptop. The kids loved the park near by, countdown across the road and liquor shop to stock up. Best thing is there is no designated check out time so you can sleep in. Highly recommend

Excellent spot for a free camping, max two nights.
$5 per night can be paid at caltex which is a minutes walk. Powered sites available, playground for the kids, friendly campers around, clean toilets open to all, dump station and water available. Countdown is across the road.
If your wanting to watch TV park your motor home further away from the trees near toilet. Expect noisey trucks throughout the night, cars parking up to go toilet and early traffic. Overall Excellent. Thank you NZ

Right on the hauraki rail trail, in central city, good laundromat and hot shower facility, plenty nice eating places nearby.
A great base for two days.

$5 for a powered site (pay at Caltex - staff will give a receipt to display on your vehicle dashboard).
Clean toilets open 24hrs, can get public dropping in to use them throughout the night. So may pay to park further away, if you’re easily disturbed by noise. Easy walk to Caltex, playground, supermarket and shops.

Really nice place!
Only 5$ by campervan, with really clean toilets, powered site, water for the campervan etc...
Also it's right in town so really nice if you just want to buy something.
It's a bit noisy in the morning but not a real nuisance!

Space for 8 or so vans, some powered sites next to toilets - but these were taken by the time we got there (7pm Friday night).
Note: opposite delivery entrance to the supermarket, so early morning noise.

Basically a carpark in the middle of the town, but: dump station and fresh water; squeaky-clean public toilet.
For $5 per night (per car/van, not person), this seems to me a god-send for an overnight stay.
Note that the $5 fee is payable at the gas station across the street (not city council or some early-closing-office), so you can arrive anytime.
