Nice quiet camping...
No screaming kids. Some long-term residents. Clean bathroom and kitchen. Good cheap laundry $2 60mins washer or dryer. Nice views of mountains. Ground very hard in January 2020 for pegs but semi private relative to crowded holiday parks. $45 for 2 people in tent. Free good powerful hot showers

The campervan is parking behind the motel, it come with stunning snow mountain view, when we visited during winter time.
Kitchen has no any cooking equipment, you have to bring your own, hot water shower was free, but the hot water has gone when half way of my shower, which is stunning cold!

Friendly staff, we arrived a few minutes after 8pm (after hours) and managed to get a spot for our sleeping van.
We were assigned a site on the grass for $40. It's definitely not a picturesque place, but it's ok for a night if you don't need a garden etc. The kitchen is very basic (sinks, stoves, tables and chairs). They don't even have dish soap, a kettle, etc. It is semi closed, meaning that there are glass walls, but no door. The bathroom is good, clean, free hot showers with good pressure. They have hand soap and toilet paper, but no hair dryer. We were there at the end of February and didn't see a lot of activity around the kitchen & bathroom, so you have plenty of space. There are a lot of long term trailers on the premises. The recycling area is a little confusing, the bins are not well marked except for the glass one, so it's not straightforward to find the correct bin. There's a supermarket across the road. All in all, it's fine for one night if you don't mind the parking style sites.

You need to be aware that this is not a site with a view: you basically park behind the motel with no direct beach access.
Facilities were in good order and well maintained. A pool is available, laundry, kitchen, BBQ as well. Showers are free, but the price for 2 people in the campervan is 45 NZD for a powered site. It is about 1.5 km walk to the town centre, along a not too nice industrial road.

Big space for the motorhome.
Dump station. Good free hot showers. Very basic kitchen, which is the only bad thing about this place. Laundry ($2 wash +'$4 dry), swimming pool. Quite cheap for Kaikoura, $45 2 adults + 2 children (7 & 3 years old) in a powered site. Stayed in August.

Good location close to the whale watching sites, clean facilities and helpful staff.
Office closes at 20.00 hours, but the manager very kindly helped us to a powered spot after a late arrival.
Pay extra for Wifi, bathrooms are not heated and kitchen/dining facilities are covered but open, so a bit cold (and this was October).

Location in the town, convenient for whale watching trips.
Good:
Friendly owner.
Bad:
Showers are free but were absolutely shocking, they were completely stone cold when we visited in late May (early winter) and so were literally unusable unless I wanted to die of hypothermia shortly afterwards. We chose life and so had to go without showers. The showers were exactly the same in both mens and women's.
The kitchen was open plan with the outside, there is no door so cooking in there is pretty awful when it's cold outside because it is exactly the same temperature in the kitchen. The hobs are in terrible looking condition and they take a long time to heat up. The hobs are really rusty, which was obviously going to happen if you have a kitchen that is as essentially outside. There are no utensils, no kettle, no toaster literally nothing other than the rusty hobs and some sinks.
