Was just a patch of grass to park up in.

We didn’t use the drop toilet. Was right beside the start of the Pinnicles trail which is exactly why we choose it. 15/20mins on a gravel route past the visitors centre to the campsite - was a bit difficult at times but we made it okay in our Jucy Campervan.

Great campsite - right next to the Pinnacles walk trek.

The carpark is also a few steps away so good access when needed.

The road in was in pretty condition and we chose this site due to quick access to the Pinnacles walk in the morning.

There's other campsites that look a little more picturesque, but this one did the trick for us nicely. We were up early to experience the goodness of the Pinnacles walk before all the other walking groups (of which there were a reasonable amount) arrived.

Great camp to start the Pinnacles walk from.

The water ( stream) is about 10 minutes walk. Rangers were friendly. Had a nice shaded campsite. Loved the valley, will probably pick a camping spot closer to the stream next time. The walk to the Pinnacles was easily manageable in one day, I imagine it may be trickier in the wet.

I stayed here in winter so it was a bit tricky to drive here on the gravel road after heavy rainfall.

I arrived when it was dark and left pretty early so can't say much about the campsite. Drop toilet was ok, nice spots to camp, super quiet and dark at night

Great starting point for walk eg the Pinnacles.

Marked as 'scenic' ($10) - no direct access to the stream, stinky toilets - should be just a 'standard' campsite.

    Another nice campspot.

Grass was mowed. Clean, quiet and clean facilities.

Beautiful location in a DOC area, choice of 6 or so camp sites which when we were there not very full..we went to the last campsite on the dirt road in - Trestle View, which was fantastic.

Couple of long drop toilets which were clean and not smelly..cost per person is $10 per night which we thought was very good value considering the location. We walked from our camp to the Pinnacles in a day (about 7 hours..bring your best legs for this walk) and enjoyed coming back to our camper for a hot shower a cold beer and a big fat steak and mash...oh and a couple of glasses of very good central otago pinot noir. Bugs were about after dark which we avoided with a combination of pretending they were not there/citronella candles and alcohol. This place was so good we stayed two nights. Thank you New Zealand you have done it again.
