Definitely a campsite tailored to children but as two young women in a campervan, we also had a pleasant stay here for one night.
We indulged our inner child and fed some of the animals which was delightful. The campsite does feel a little run down, but we realised we got lucky and used the better showers/toilets (those closer to reception) as there are some rather old, pretty much outside showers and toilets at the other end of the campsite. The showers/toilets were clean as was the kitchen area which we used to wash our dishes. Staff were friendly but not around in the evening to tell people to be quiet. Music was playing until around 10pm which wasn’t too bad but would’ve been nicer to have gone to sleep earlier , especially considering we were woken up at the crack of dawn by someone’s dog! We thought we might be disturbed by the farm animals or the peacocks but they were fine. Overall, it’s a lovely quirky little place ideal for one or two nights, which could do with a bit more reinforcement of the rules as some other stayers were slightly inconsiderate.

Stayed here for 3 nights.
Great famiky friendly vibe. Lots for kids to do. Donkey rides, bouncy castle, playground, flying fix and lots of animals to look at and pat.
Facilities are older but clean. Showers have great pressure. Coffee cart every morning too. Will definitely stay again.

Fantastic family friendly camp site.
Feed animals. Rustic (sometimes rusty sometimes retro) play equipment. Kids trail with homemade play kit that spans quite a bit of area making it ideal for kiddo adventure. Facilities are clean, well equipped, and generous on what they offer for free.

Good stopover with kids for the animals.
Apart that was nothing special. Felt really empty at our time (Mid Feb), only a handful of residents/employees who seem to live here Year round.

Nice campsite with farm animals around, very friendly owner.
We were the only guests around and it kept raining all night, so the grassy ground got really muddy but that happens in nature. The kitchen was well equipped and the showers and toilets clean. We took a nice stroll to see the animals in the morning.

We kind of found this on a whim and glad we did.
The facilities are old but the shower was probably the best pressure and temperature I had in 4 weeks. The kids loved the rabbits, guinea pigs, lambs, kids, chickens, peacocks, ponies, pigs and donkeys. I also enjoyed helping rustle up a few sheep that " needed work " The owners have only been there 18 months but doing a great job. Good on you guys, it was a highlight.

I visited the camp during the new year holidays so my review might not be adequate for all year long.
Service was great but camp grounds extremely busy. Very family oriented so lots and lots of noise. Music blaring, children running everywhere. I rented a cabin. The cabin had all the practicalities but it wasn't quite clean. I wanted to splurge for that night away from my tent but the cabin made me regret my choice.

Great to walk around the farm and play with the animals. The actual camp sites looked clean and well maintained.

The animals on this campsite are great, facilities are fine as well, but....
It is soooo noisy until late at night. People talking, laughing, music on. We’ve asked reception about this at 9 o’clock as it was impossible for my kids too fall asleep. But they apparently don’t keep an eye on..... My 2, 4 and 6 year old didn’t sleep before 11pm....

I checked in here on my last night after two weeks of travelling on the north and south island.
I put a load of washing on, took a walk around and then left. The sites were nice enough and the kitchen looked ok but the bathrooms looked dirty and old and the tv room that was open (one room was closed due to renovations) smelled like cat pee. I am traveling my baby so wanted somewhere he could crawl around but no way would I put him on the floor here. I didn't want to end our experience on a bad note so drove down the road to Ashburton. Maybe stop in to see the animals but I wouldn't recommend to stay here. Sorry to leave such a harsh review!

Very first campsite we stayed at so we didn't really have any experience previously.
Site was clean and owner was really friendly. No issues with the powered site...kept raining throughout our stay so we couldn't really do much. Saw a few farm animals the next day just before we left. Think would have been a lot more fun if the weather had been kinder.

Excellent place to stay with the kids...
we were just passing through, but they had an excellent time with the awesome animals... donkey ride, guinea pig petting, peacock admiring etc etc. Well run and relaxed place with a great playground and rural setting for the kids... and us! The owner is very friendly and very helpful :)

It is much more than a campground, you can also come as a day visitor and pet animals, do a donkey ride and drive quad bikes.
Perfect for kids.

Wonderful for families with young children as there is a lovely playground and farm animals that can be watched.
Shower and kitchen on site. Quite expensive though ($7 per person).
