Great spot along the beach with a new (drop) toilet.

There are about fifteen places. You park right along the dunes, 10 meters from the beach. Only downside is that there are no drinking water facilities nearby so bring enough. Also no showers. But it is a beautiful place

Nice spots near the beach and you have some toilets close by.

Downside is that it gets quite busy with traffic on the beach and on the gravel road, and that’s even in the low season. If you like a bit more peace and quiet I would recommend going somewhere else.

    Fantastic spot.

5m from beach. 50m from toilet. Great for a tent.

Amazing spot, 5 minute walk from the beach.

Toilets are clean and fine. Lots of space. Worth getting up early for sunrise as it is amazing from the campsite

An exposed site at the south end of Pourerere that will provide a cooling breeze on a summers night or an intolerable experience in a southerly wind.

Rather muddy and rough, there are no flat spots in this “out of sight out of mind” freedom camping spot. However, on a nice evening you will enjoy a fantastic sunset. No privacy, no shelter, 1km from toilets and 500m from any beach access. Two stars because you can camp for 3 nights.
