This remote campsite is a great base camp for 4WD. Fish for trout, or kayak in the river.
A basic campsite accessible to 4WD and mountain bikes. The toll road from St Arnaud and Coldwater Stream is open from Boxing Day through until Easter Monday. Other times you will have to contact Star Holdings Ltd on 03 545 7600 during office hours.
There is a ground based (cyanide) possum control operation running until 30 October 2024 to eliminate the risk of bovine TB spreading in domestic stock.
The operation covers 8,713 hectares along the Rainbow Road from Chinaman Stream to No Mans Creek. It extends up to the headwaters of the Rainbow River, Coldwater Creek and Judges Creek.
Poison warning signs will be in place and maintained throughout the operation. There is a risk from secondary poisoning.
