Loved this campsite, our favourite stop during our 2 week trip!

Large grassy area, plenty of space for your own privacy. Clean toilets, nice river and small bush walks close by. So much space that would be great for kids. The bird watching is another plus and minimal sandflies. Picnic tables available and taps, power available also for extra cost. We will definitely be back!

My partner and I b-lind it off the Ferry and went to a number of camping locations.

This one here was the one we picked for our first night down south. There was so much space onsite and only 7 other people on-site. However, they were a very long way away so we had our own privacy. Great facilities such as a toilet and cleaning station for dishes. Would definitely go back and camp here in the future!

Just a beautiful place, so tranquil with places to set up in the sun or shade.

Only four others there so it must be a best kept secret. No worries getting our caravan in.

Huge grassy field not to far from the main road and all paved roads leading to it.

We were one of 3 groups there so had plenty of space to ourselves! Nice toilet block but grass is quite long so if it rains everything gets wet!!

Beautiful location , big grassy field surrounded by trees.

Lots of flat spots. No phone signal!! Toilets well maintained. Lots of bees and flies. Nice walkways but sadly stream was all dry when we visited. Only 4 other vans there with us and plenty of space.

Super clean bathrooms, amazing open spaces, and a cute picnic table area.

Lots of little flies made it annoying to sit down and eat, so we walked and ate! But it’s much better than dealing with sandflies. Most of these were just harmless little flies. There weren’t many people there so it felt very private. Great cheap place for camping - 8$/person. Would recommend.

Delightful spot only maybe 15mins from Blenheim.

Big space but lots of good little corners to tuck into. Decent toilets & not too many sandflies or mossies. Pretty quiet too.

We stayed around New Years, lots of family’s, sandflies and little shade on the big field.

But the short walk to the river is lovely. No showers but the toilets are kept nice.

Large open Green space with lots of room for campers.

Quiet, just birds in the morning. About 15 kilometres outside Renwick, on paved road. $8 pp, $5 for electricity.

Flush toilets, plenty of taps (boil water warning) and outdoor sink for kitchen/laundry.

Large campground with little disturbance from other campers. Powered sites on the right side of the grounds. Nice wonder down to the stream (or maybe it was more like a creek). Negligible number of sandflies. $6 per adult per night.

Great place, beautiful open field in a small sheltered valley with soft grass, picnic tables and clean bathrooms.

There are little trails that can allow you to walk along a small stream where you can see small fish and cray fish.

Take the road to Mt Richmond Forest Park, to the left after you cross the Wairau river to the north of Renwick.

It's about 10km in, past many farming properties, and signposts come up occasionally to reassure you that you haven't missed it! Huge grassed area, little bushy walks, nice afternoon sunshine, and clean toilet block. Great as last night before the ferry.

Onamalutu is a picnic and camping spot with a nicely kept toilet block, a short walk through an attractive fringe of native bush beside a small stream that can disappear in the summer and a fairly large

grassy playing / camping area; but not much else. There are a few power outlets for caravans. A lot of casual visitors come and go during the day. A bit off the beaten track but nice enough for a short stay.

Had a second stay of three nights in January 2016. The stream had been swept clean by a couple of heavy rainfalls which left a string of beautiful swimming holes that can be found by walking upstream. A lovely quiet spot during the week .. the picnic parties turn up in the weekends.
