Wilding conifer control continues in Molesworth using a combination of aerial and ground methods.
Ground control work will be happening in the true right of the Saxton, upstream of Saxton Hut. Ground work will commence in October 2024 and will continue until December 2024.
Aerial Basal Bark Application (ABBA) using helicopters will commence in September 2024 and continue until March 2025. A map showing where helicopters may be operating can be seen on the attached map (JPG, 544K).
The work will be weather dependent, with crews coming and going as weather windows allow.

The alternative days (if 17 and 25 February are not suitable) are 18 and 26 February 2025.
In addition, there is a construction site and traffic management both sides of Clarence River at Acheron Camp Site from December 2024 to March 2025.
First published on 30 January 2025.The Graveler Bike Race will be held on Saturday 15 February 2025 and will impact other visitors to Molesworth Recreational Reserve.
Cyclists will leave from Hanmer Springs and follow Tophouse Road to Molesworth Station before turning off at the Severn Confluence.
The Race then continues on the Severn to Sedgemere Road, emerging onto Wairau Hanmer Springs Hydro Road and back to Hanmer Springs. View a map of the race (JPG, 236K)

Standard campsites have a more limited range of facilities and services than Serviced campsites. These campsites have toilets, a water supply that could be treated or untreated tap water, or from a stream or lake, and vehicle or boat access. Bring your own soap for washing hands. Untreated water should be boiled before use to ensure it's safe. Wood BBQs and fireplaces, cold showers, picnic tables, a cooking shelter and rubbish bins may be provided; this will vary from site to site.
