Although the showers are a little outdated and need redoing, this place was great.
We ended up getting there after the office was closed, and they were sooo great in leaving our directions and instructions for us when we arrived. I’d stay there again!

This campsite has the atmosphere of a post war Soviet military base that was abandoned 60 years ago.
Don't let the nice pictures fool you. While the facilities are clean they still feel disgusting.
The dump station has one hose that people use to clean their toilets and fill they water tanks with water that is supposed to come from the ground untreated.
There are also almost no signs that show you your way trough a maze of extremely strange permanent residents to one of the few parking spots for vacation customers. And it's not even cheaper than all the beautiful sites we have been at. Worst campground so far.

Amazing price, hot showers, a TV room, wee playground and flying fox, kitchen, washing and drying facility.
Out dated but did the job. Found most of the people we talked to were long stay residents. Only 5 minutes from the town center but when you are paying half the price per night than the other places in the area it was perfect for us.

This campground has a large permanent residence population.
Must be a full out of covid. The washing machines were always in use. The kitchen cookers need upgrading. The other facilities are old but in good working order. Pretty cheap to stay. The grounds are in good condition. Lots of good places to camp.

The check in was friendly.
The Cabbage Tree restaurant next door was nice. There are a lot of permanent residents who seem friendly enough but this means we didn’t get to use the washing machines or dryers because they had piles and piles of clothes, bedding etc that they were washing and drying. I even got up early to use them but they were still being used. In the morning we went to have breakfast in the kitchen. The permanent residents were using the kitchen as their hang out, none of them were eating or anything just being loud and obnoxious. Felt very uncomfortable so just went back to the van and left ASAP. Won’t be back.

Basic property here in West Invercargill.
Nice, friendly reception. We had a site close to the facilities. Kitchen and community room is shared with the permanent residents. Kitchen hobs didn't heat too well. Didn't feel too comfortable, so we stayed the night and left as soon as we could next morning. On a positive note, check out Industry cafe - great, off the beaten path location. Have brekkie with the tradies. Great food and coffee.

It is quite a simple campground, but still really nice.
I stayed here twice (before and after visiting Stewart island)
Strong, hot and free showers, a big and alright equiped kitchen, 500mb of free wifi ( only issue it doesn't work really well), a big area for tents and vehicles (non powered).
Very friendly and helpful owners/ staff.
I had some struggles with my car and they were a great help, they gave me a lift to a garage and even provided me with a bike, so I could drive into town etc
Overall good experience and would always come back.

Beautiful site.
Very friendly staff; my partner needed a shed to fix our trailer after it got damaged on our way down here and the owner let us use their shed. They have permanent residents onsite and their pricing is very affordable. I love how their layout of the kitchen, laundry and showers/toilets all being in the same area, saves having to travel to multiple areas of the camp to use them. They also have a dump station which many camps don't have. Definitely recommend and will gladly stay again should the need arise.

Quite boring camp site.
Facilities was quite old but at least we got warm showers and a powered site for $75 (4 adults and 2 children). Close-ish (1-2km) to the ocean beach and the nearby river. The kids enjoyed the playground with the flying fox! Really friendly owners!

Think Twice.
My experience here was less than fantastic.
As a tourist in a camper, this site feels like an overflow for low income live in residents from Invercargill.
The showers were hot and strong, but the overall shower block was a unpractical to use, could have been cleaner, but the free music did help some.
The kitchen was very poorly equipped with almost no utensils, even the locals were not pleased, dripping taps also.
Beware the winds from the west, and the noise form the nearby racing track.
The best part of my stay was exiting the site and looking at it in my rear view mirror.

Get your facts correct before you open your big gob! (Overflow from low income) what gives you the right to judge what other peoples incomes are - they are retired people who have spent a lot of money to live in their luxuries - motorhomes are expensive to own. The shower block has good quality showers, toilets, hand basins, hairdryer, hand drier, soap, what more do you need? How impractical is that! We find offence that you think it could have been cleaner as the facilities are well cleaned by ourselves and anything dirty would have resulted from current tourists using the facilities. The kitchen is for the use of campers and the utensils are made available but unfortunately throughout the season tourists steal the cutlery, plates, pots they want to keep. Sorry we are not God the wind would have been blowing anywhere in Invercargill. The racing track or cars do not have lights and do not race past 5pm and don't start until 10am and only have a handful of race meetings a year. I find your last comment offensive and bullying and shows us what type of people you are. You had a choice and we don't force anyone to stay if they do not appreciate our park. You should never book in if you had not wanted to stay. Reviews from other people are more realistic. Anyone reading this review are welcome to inspect our park prior to booking in.

I have used this site as a base for the Burt Munro Challenge for the past three years.
Positioned adjoining the Teretonga Raceway and within walking distance of the rally site and the Oreti Park speedway it is ideally situated.
Gerry has always provided a friendly welcome and good facilities - kitchen, laundry and showers with abundant hot water. The character cabins are spotless and have modern furniture.
Highly recommended!
