very nice campground, with friendly lady at the reception.
although not as cheap as stated below, we payed 25$ per person (so 50$ in total) for an unpowered site, power is 10$ more. shower is super hot, almost too hot (never thought I‘d say that ever).

What a gem!
Heading south we checked out the two DOC sites (Pleasant and Cameron) but the sand flies were bad so we decided to try our luck. So glad we did! Wonderland was only $25 for an unpowered site (2 of us) and we would have paid $20 at the DOC sites. This place has an incredible big rustic lodge to cook and hang out in. Free showers, wifi, and clean toilets. The mountains surrounding the area are gorgeous. Wished we were staying another night!

Great location with stunning views.
Nice little lodge for sitting in (warm & cosy) with a well equipped kitchen. Toilets and showers are looked after yet feel like they’re outside so will be cold after. Nice fella who runs the place too and Gas available there. Overall great stop over going from or to the west coast for cheap. $15 a head for unpowered site.

$62 for a powered site for 2.
Easy to book, called them and they said to just turn up as long as its before 9pm. Good kitchen facility although a bit dated. Bathroom facility is out of this world. I saw more wildlife in there than I've seen in the whole country. 10 months ago someone said the showers had two functions, scalding or off. Nothing has changed. I used it and now have no skin. At least my sunburn doesn't hurt any more.

Super cheap (€15 pp for unpowered) - nice location and setting (views of mountains, picnic tables, bush walk from campsite), nice hot showers, and well equipped kitchen.
I was the only camper here so had the whole place to myself which was lovely!

Called up before and were told we could check around 8 no problem, just paid at the adjoins restaurant/bar.
Pretty good site, main positive was it being cheap ($25 for powered site for 2). Kitchen was decent as well.
Showers were free but not in the best state and a real pain to get to the right temperature.

It was very pleasant to stay here!
15$ for an unpowered site (25$ powered) is very fair.
The kitchen is very well equipped and there are plenty of charging options in the lodge as well. Wi-Fi was working excellent and also when a bit further away from the lodge.
Bathrooms are small but clean with hot water available at any time.
Great stay when on the way to or from the glaciers!

25 nzd (unpowered) for 2 or more people.
You can’t expect luxury…
Big kitchen which was nice in rainy weather.
Toilets and showers small and not cleaned while we were there…
Short of staff so bar and resto opened later and closed early…

Dirty, rustic, and a bit on the dilapidated side.
The kitchen is well stocked, but the bathrooms were unimpressive, damp, and dirty. Could not get cold water in the men's showers - choice was "scalding" or "off". You're better off in Wanaka.

Amazing wifi (only available in the lodge) we parked our camper right out front so had great wifi. Very basic toilet and shower. Big communal kitchen with all the pots and pans. Relatively clean. Very quiet.

Good kitchen and lounge area to wash up/charge items/warm up by log fire! Showers hot and unlimited. Good value for 15$pp - everything we needed. Arrived late and just paid in the morning. Just the guy behind the desk was a little grumpy!!

Kind hosts, easy check in process.
Not the best views from campsites but still a good place to check into after a drive to or from the glaciers. Very close to blue pools. Kitchen had most things you need in the bottom lodge, with better bathrooms down there too. Great fireplace and wood in the kitchen dining area, great long tables and couch and the cutest kitty looking for snuggles! There’s another bathroom area with showers and toilets that were unisex and much more of an outdoor camping experience. Use the bottom ones if you can (closest to the kitchen/restaurant/bar/shop). Not sure about wifi or laundry as didn’t use. Shop has quiet a few necessities to buy if you need but the bar and restaurant also serve foods, coffee tea and have a lovely fireplace too.
