Really nice and quiet camp site right near the river.
Hot showers with good pressure, fully stocked kitchen. Restrooms were a bit on the older side but they were very clean. Daryle and his wife have worked hard over the last 18 months and it shows.

Quite a few long term caravans .... met a friendly couple who said they come to stay regularly. Two clean functional toilet shower blocks and a big clean kitchen. Self check-in through an intercom system which was easy.

Millers Flat in Central Otago is a great place to unwind and enjoy the local hospitality.
It's cool exploring the sleepy old gold mining towns. Don't be in a rush, just enjoy coffee or a beer with the locals. This camping ground was superb. Great pitch, quiet, lots of space, excellent hot showers and laid back vibe. Lovely swimming pool nearby. We hired bikes and took advantage of a shuttle service from the campsite to Roxbrugh Dam. A great day cycling. Excellent hosts John and Marisa made us most welcome. Highly recommended.

We camped here for two nights whilst cycling The Clutha Gold Trail in November.
The new owners couldn't be more welcoming or helpful. They also operate a shuttle service which we took advantage of one day. The campground was a tranquil haven at the end of each days cycling with lovely grounds and good hot showers. Just across the bridge (walking distance) is a pub / cafe for a meal or coffee. Would definitely recommend.

My colleague Mitch and I stayed here for a week whilst travelling around the Otago area from Melbourne.
New owners John and Marise were extremely accommodating and friendly hosts, and helped us out with everything we needed whilst here. We arrived quite late after picking up Mitch from the airport, but communicating this to Marise was no hassle at all and we were warmly welcomed. Our tent site was well positioned and private, and the central location was perfect for us and our plans. John and Marise have inherited a once tired park, but it is obvious that they are making big changes and all for the better. Hot water system is fantastic, kitchen, laundry and shared amenities are always clean and well presented, and the park was spacious and grounds immaculately groomed. The pub across the bridge with Mark and Lucy was perfect strolling distance in the evening for a pint. We will be coming back to Millers Flat next year and are looking forward to seeing the changes that John and Marise have made! Cheers and see you soon, Casey and Mitch

Previous reviews of this place are not really applicable as it now has new owners.
We arrived lateish in the evening and booked a standard cabin. It was reasonably priced and was clean and had a heater which warmed the place up very quickly.
The toilets and kitchen were very clean and the park itself was lovely, well laid out with lots of grassy areas and wonderful views.
The owners themselves couldn't do enough for us to make sure we were happy. They chatted to us at length about our trip and gave advice on things to see in the local area. We were kindly escorted to our room and showed where everything was. At is was raining we were even offered an umbrella for our trips to the amenities.
Great place to stay.

Don't stay here.
Dirty and rundown. Shame really as it's in a nice setting and has good potential in the right hands. No cleaning was done in the two days we stayed there. Bathrooms have mould growing in the showers along with cobwebs hanging from the ceilings. Dead moths and mosquitos lay in the basin for the whole time we were there. At no point were the toilet rolls topped up. The kitchen is poorly equipped and harks from the 1970's. Don't even think about trying to watch the TV. So small that you need to sit on it to watch anything. Sadly it has noisy long term people staying that drink all day and night. We are a couple who don't mind roughing it in the wild, but draw the line at paying good money for extremely bad service and facilities.

This camp ground is caught in a time warp.
Everything in the kitchen is dated, its like being in a 1970's campsite. There is not much power outlets if you are wanting to charge devices. There is no electric jug so you have to wait ages for the zip to boil. No dishwashing liquid or teatowels are provided, which would be a nice touch please.
Outside there is nowhere shady where you could sit near the kitchen to enjoy your meal. You have to sit at the table in the kitchen and have people look at you eat.
The lounge room/kitchen is all one room, so if your trying to relax after biking all day you have to put up with others talking or cooking.
The lounge room only has a tv which is so small you cant read anything on the screen, and two very old chairs. There is absolutely nothing to do at this campsite in the evenings. It could do with something outside for the kids to play on.
The toilets were suppose to be cleaned (according to their sign) between 11am and 12 noon, well after 2pm and we being the only ones on site all day the loo paper on the floor from the day before was still there.
The ground is ROCK HARD, dry, and the grass is DEAD, we bent half our tent pegs trying to hammer them into the ground.
The owners seem to have lost interest in the place. We paid the fee upfront on arrival that was the last contact we had from them after asking several questions like where is our campsite , kitchen/lounge area and the toilet block, we were told with a fleeting glance behind her back "its over there'. They just wanted to get your money and be done with you.
They could do with watering the grounds, as it looks like a scene from a desert!
I would NOT come back here again, or recommend it to others.
