Excellent site with amazing views of Mount Cook.
Site is well maintained and pitches spaced out especially the non powered ones. Plenty of showers/toilets, a coin operated laundry area and great kitchen/dining/lounge area. Not cheap but well worth it after a few nights freedom camping.

Stayed a couple of nights as we couldn't get in to White Horse Hill.
We were glad we did though - hot showers, clean and no queues at all in the block we used. Sheltered spacious pitches with views out over the lake. The drive up and back to Mt Cook each day was no problem.

Facilities were good - clean toilets, hot showers, lots of crockery in the kitchens - just not enough of them!
Two toilets + two urinals (men) or four toilets (ladies) and three basins each for 60 sites isn't enough. Expect lines morning and evening.

Campsites are spaced out, which is great for noise and privacy from your neighbors, not so great when having to walk to shower/bathroom facilities in driving rain.
Bathroom was clean and the shower had plenty hot water though. Kitchen and dining area was sufficient for my needs. No stove or oven, just hot plates, microwaves, and toasters.

In good weather, the place might get bonus points, but unfortunately we didn't have any.
Otherwise, it was rather mediocre!
Apart from the fact that, as is often the case, the lounge and dining area is far too small (with only a moderately full campsite), the facilities and sanitary areas leave a lot to be desired.
The cookers are greasy, handles are missing on two-plate cookers and the kitchen is generally quite cramped when preparing food.
If you go to the men's toilet, you almost fall into the urinal, some of the handles on the washbasins don't work, people blow-dry their hair under the hand dryer, and here, too, the ceilings are very narrow and quite low.
But you have no choice if you want to go to the Aoraki area, unless you stay in a classy hostel in Mount Cook Village or take the Top 10 in Twizel and have the journey, although I don't know what it's like because I haven't been there! In good weather, the place might get bonus points, but unfortunately we didn't have any.

We loved this park!
Granted we arent as well traveled as others, but it was one of our favorites from our 4-day camper van adventure. Lots of spots to choose from and all had a beautiful backdrop. Bathrooms looked like they had recently been redone and were squeaky clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to clean up our dishes, and the common area had a ‘take a book leave a book’ shelf which we always love. Internet was Meh and really the only negative I can think of. Very convenient to stay here before our Hooker Lake hike the next day!

22$ for an unpowered site beginning October.
Unpowered sites are very muddy when it's raining. Little grass available although reception tells you it's all grass. Facilities are clean and well kept. Kitchen is large but few stoves available. Might need to bring your own, plenty of sockets to plug in. Laundry works fine but takes forever, dryers are a royal pain, seems to have a will of it's own.

Really disappointed with our stay here.
It was $50 for 2 for a powered site and we feel completely ripped off. Compared to other, cheaper campsites we’ve been at the bathrooms are dated and small, with no room to get changed. There is no dump station or water to fill up the van on site. They clearly take advantage of being the closest powered site to Mt Cook and don’t bother keeping their facilities up to standard. NOT worth the money. Also paid for WiFi and this didn’t work properly.
