This time of the year was so quiet, the birdsong and nearby bush walks amazing, and the weather fantastic.
Pricing a bit high for the facilities provided, over summer holidays this place is absolutely full.

Pay for laundry which has 2 machines for an entire 100 person campsite.
Pay for 6 min shower tokens (one per person). Pay for wifi. Didn’t love that when the campsite cost was higher than a couple of the super nice rv campsites we’ve visited. Good family friendly play space with tons of kids. Decent facilities. Free herbs and lettuce grown on property.

We went camping on a day that was just my family, so it was very quiet and peaceful.
Our intention was to sleep 2 nights, but there was so much sandflies, that we left the next morning. The kitchen was equipped with everything we need and more, but it is old. The bathroom is old, with a controlled time of 5 minutes per adult. We will definitely be back, but to spend the day, not sleep

Beautiful place to stay.
Lovely hosts, safe and fun for children, exceptionally clean facilities and lovely grassy private sites. It’s a pretty drive too and only 50 mins to Christchurch.

Beautiful location nice and close to Christchurch airport.
Perfect last spot to camp before flying out. There were very few people there which gave us plenty of space. Good facilities for kids too.

$42 a night but paid $40 as we didn't have change.

Absolute gem of a campground!
So so peaceful and quiet. Even though it rained the whole night we were there we still found lots of places to explore with the kids. A must do!

We had a powered site for two nights.
pros: out of town and a lot of green around; friendly man in office; older and basic but clean facilities
contras: busy at weekends (public picnic area next to the fence); you pay extra for showers and wifi; closed gate from 10pm to 7:30am

Situated in a peaceful idyllic setting this was probably the best maintained and most beautifully presented camping ground I have ever stayed at .
Friendly and helpful hosts who clearly treat the maintenance of this camping ground as a labour of love . And as an added bonus it has a pet friendly camping area !

Grounds are beautiful and the gorge is right next to you. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely site, beautiful scenery, clean facilities.
Only complaint is that the park was relatively empty, but we were booked into sites that were very "on top" of each other, instead of being spread out among the empty sites. We had about 12 empty sites around us, yet we had 6 sites filled next to each other, and the other sites remained empty the two days we were there. We had very noisy neighbors who partied until the early hours which was quite frustrating.

Lovely well maintained grassy park, welcoming host, plenty of space for motorhome.
Few other campers for our night there. Nice walks surrounding the park. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. We were there in early April. Facilities quaint but very clean.

It was fine, quiet, with kitchen facility included.
Shower included but only 4 minutes of hot water. An additional 4 minute token was a dollar or two. Caretakers were friendly enough. Sites were closely packed and I bet it could be noisy in the high season.

We stayed here a few weeks back and had a great time.
On arrival, the new managers provided us with a shower token each and a very secluded pitch for our tent. Was nice that they identified that a young (ish) couple would prefer a little privacy away from the family vibe in the main site. All facilities were clean and well equipped. Get some sandfly stuff before you go though because it's a popular area for them. The area is beautiful and the hosts were most accommodating. We will be back again for sure. On a side note, we used this as a base to walk cave stream. Don't leave Canterbury until you've done it!

People living permanently in park in run down caravans.
Not a very comfortable feeling for a tourist. Nice spot, friendly owners, but the people living there a bit off putting.
