We can help you book local activities and we have a mini golf course within the park, open from 1pm daily. Winter rates apply from June and an exceptional standard of cleanliness and hygiene is guaranteed. We are located adjacent to a large playground and directly opposite the Hanmer Springs Country Club.

Lovely spacious site for our camper.
Showers great value at just $1, cheapest so far. Facilities were kept spotless and the WiFi wasn’t bad at all.Close enough to the village but not so close that you would be troubled with noise. Staff ( Craig) was friendly and helpful, happy to recommend.

A nice well kept campsite with friendly owners.
$46 for a non powered site, clean bathrooms and kitchen. $0.50 for a nice 6 minute hot shower but can put 2 $0.50 coins in at the start to have 12 minutes. Very quiet and only 10 minutes to walk into town - highly recommend the stonegrill at Saints restaurant down the road!

Nice spot close to everything - you can walk to multiple restaurants and the pools.
Service was very very good and the owner went out of his way multiple times to make our stay enjoyable. Showers are 50c for 6 mins. Bathrooms are average, nothing special but everything seemed clean enough. We were late to check out and owner didn’t mind at all, very friendly. It is new ownership since the previous bad reviews. Bonus - very cute dogs! And you can arrange to bring your dog to the campsite if you check in advance with the owner.

For me this was a quite shocking experience after travelling already through New Zealand for three months.
While arriving at the campsite we were doubting if it was suitable for us and if there was something to do for our 4 year old daughter and if there is a place in the shade. What we sometimes do is drive on the campsite and have a look around and then afterwards go or register at the reception. We decided to go but before we could drive off my daughter got ill and vomited. I just went out of the campervan to get Some water to clean her, and a truck came with high speed to us, hit the breakes a meter and stopped a meter next to me and started shouting to me and beïng aggressive and intimidating to me that we had to leave right away.
Ok, his point of view is probably that we cant drive on the campsite like that and we didnt follow the ‘Rules.’ ok. In my point of view there is never any excuse to behave like that and for sure it was disproportional. And that to a woman with a vomiting child. Maybe hé doesnt know how aggressive hé came accross to me.
When i said we were planning to go or register hé said hé didnt believe us… i don’t know how often it happens that people camp on a campsite illegally, that is of course very sad. But to immediately assume people are doing wrong, seems difficult to me to run a business like that.

We stayed as we needed to charge and wash. Fine for a paid site, but for us, not as atmospheric as DOC or free spots.

Very rude lady that owns the campground. We were drying the last of the dishes before leaving at about 10.05am and she barged us out the kitchen with the hoover, was passive aggressive and wouldn't give refunds for the following night we had already paid for. will not be staying again!!!

3 year old went free.
Really friendly guy at reception .
The sites are a decent enough size on grass and with vegitation and trees inbetween to give some screening.
The facalities are old but kept clean.
The showers were $0.50 but we never needed them as we went to the hotsprings in the late afternoon (within easy walking distance)
Really nice childrens playground next door and a outdoor fitness circuit as well.

Stayed here on a powered site for one night after abandoning our plans to freecamp in Christchurch.
Called up to check it would be okay, gentleman on the phone was friendly and told us how long it would take us to get there. Check in on arrival was quick, we were one of four or five campervans for the night so they gave us a nice spot away from the others but close to the facilities. Grounds were very clean, power box could use a bit of care as there were lots of bugs and spiderwebs but that's just being nitpicky. Showers were good for 50c, laundry facilities were good, only strange part was there appeared to be two ladies camped out in the kitchen the whole time we were there washing themselves in the kitchen sink. Got a late night visit from someone's dog, was concerned at first but he was lovely and friendly and a nice surprise to end our night. The only reason I voted 9* was due to the huge amount of bugs that came into the camper which we think were sandflies. Other than that it was a lovely stay.

Don't expect this site to honour your Kiwi Holiday Parks discount card.
I was told they have left the organisation and no longer accept it. Although they are in the 2019 Brochure which offers the discount.
Lovely hosts though, new owners who are trying to improve the reputation of the site. It certainly is a nice place to stay. Great location, well laid out, clean and well tended. $30 p.n for one with power.
Why would you? Perfect for visiting Hanmer Springs; great hosts, clean, tidy and well serviced.
Why wouldn't you? You're giving Hanmer Springs a miss; you're expecting a 15% discount with your Kiwi HP card.
Mark-downs? Bit of a cheek to use the brochure to make an offer but then withdraw it when people arrive. They should in all decency have waited out the current brochure.
Return? Yes I would return.

A lovely little campsite, nice grounds, clean and tidy amenities.
Nice and quiet with access to a sports field and walking distance to town. 50cents for showers but a very good shower. Interesting Jackson Pollock flooring, but I guess it’s a non slip surface.

Spacious sites. Very friendly at check in. Have to pay for showers but only 50 cents for 7 minutes, turned off shower well before that. Very clean. Great for walking to village. Only stayed one night as had previously checked in at the top 10. Wished I found this little gem first!

Paid over $100 for family of 3 children in campervan and not even hot water.
$20 extra for children over 13years, for what? Pictures look like they have pool and playground but they don't.
They have check out time at 10.00 AM and could not check out one hour later because of tired children in the morning. All camping grounds I’ve been to are more friendly and better value than this.

Site is well manicured but there is no privacy between sites.
Unpowered sites do not have water supply. Amenities are clean but inadequate number of showers and toilets for the size of the park, AND extra charge for showers on top of the expensive site fee. At night the lights switch off within minutes so be prepared to finish your short shower in the dark! Big signs are posted everywhere making it clear to campers what the site owner expects them to do, creating a rather unpleasant ambience. Yes there is a nice view to the mountains, but it is way overpriced for what the campsite offers, especially if you travel in a self contained motor home and don't need power.

We found this site to be the best around Hanmer Springs.
We were lucky and got a powered site for two for $34 for the night on special. This park has the most incredible views of the snow covered peaks and the view alone is worth more. Amenities were pretty good but we have been amazed that a country that has more fresh water per person than any other country on the planet is so tight with their water. Showers and shower heads often leave a lot to be desired. The old fashoned shower rose and flickmaster style mixer tap is still the most simple, reliable and satisfying shower there is. This park employs the old plastic style shower head that does OK but could be better.

My husband booked us in, unfortunately we were made to feel unwelcome by fellow campers, I think due to over crowding as we had one of the last vacant spots because of long weekend.
Made us rethink as we were advised we required extra payment when using showers. After a few moments it was decided we depart and find other accommodation. Not able to give true reflection on facilities as we did not stay, unfortunately refund isn't an option as there is large signature at reception with NO REFUNDS!

Shouting to us when asking why not discount on our kiwi-member card as if we asking for something strange.
Campground location is great but amenties to old, we had to share mens/womens showers as womens block was closed for winter.
This campground has great potential with the right management. The park is beautiful situated, close to the pools.

If i could put a 0 i would.
the lady Dianne was extremely rude and unprofessional to this lady before us in the office, and then continued to be extremely rude to us. She very over reactive and has no reasoning with you and does not listen to any side of the story just her own. She screams and shouts and swears at customers which is highly unprofessional and RUDE. i do not recommend anyone to go stay there AT ALL. It was such a bad stay and very unhappy about it she even took 100 dollars out of my account for nothing! We didn't damage a thing so she had no right to take it out will be dealing police about this matter.
