Great campground with modern and clean facilities.
Great playground for kids and lovely hot showers, even a family bathroom.
Pros: close to town, 5-10min walk to Main Street. Great facilities, even a hot tub!
Cons: expensive, was $81 for a family of 4 for a powered site which was our most pricey night. No views of the ocean and right next to railway line.

Kaikoura top 10 was amazing.
We had issues with our motorhome and checked in last minute. A bit pricey at roughly $48 NZD for 2 people on a powered site. The bathrooms have a heater (SO good in the colder months) and hairdryers, very well equipped camp site with wifi.

Staff really friendly.
Site was good. Ofc you are close to the people next to you but I don’t really know what other people expect from a holiday park?? If you want complete solitude go and freedom camp.
Toilets and showers and kitchen all clean and nice. Showers were warm!
Nice hot tub which you can reserve for half an hour- great way to warm up after dolphin encounter/whale watch.
Personally didn’t use but seemed to be lots of kids entertainment facilities.
Top10 is always a bit expensive but would say in Kaikoura you get what you pay for.

What you’d expect from a top 10 but so noisey.
Road noise and train went past middle of the night, also by a helicopter pad. I thought it was expensive for camping esp for non powered site it’s double the price but small sites and no power. Facilities are clean but cramped. Wasn’t a fan of how out of the way the kids play area was. It’s a great play area but way out of sight. Not tenting options close to it.

Well located spot, close to city centre and whale watching.
Nice and helpful staff. Lounge with TV and playing room OK. Very well warmed bathrooms (which was appreciated since we went in winter), with 5 min hot showers and good quality hairdryers.
One con, the ground floor was a little bit wet with small puddles because of the rain.
Beautiful sights from the mountains.

Handy for Kaikoura but...
We were there on a wet night, our grass pitch was poorly drained with standing water and big puddles. The kitchen was large but overcrowded - I know it was raining but didn’t seem to have the capacity to cope with the numbers and the site was not full.
From our experience can’t give more than a six

cray fish in town on the way to the peninsula - so all good; one point deducted for public access to facilities but all very nice folk so no drama, stay here and you won’t be disappointed.

Very comfortable stay in our self contained motel room.
shower pressure was great and there was a hair dryer which was a great thing to have. There was a dishwasher in the kitchen which was good to have as other motels don't have this. The heat pump however was over the fridge so it was sort of cold at night. The playground was awesome with a Neos360. Couldn't stop playing it, so fun. Rooms were very well kept but the bed sheets didn't quite fit over the whole bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was excellent with a vintage style which was a nice touch. The open roof space was great because it wasn't stuffy like other hotel spa rooms. Overall a great stay and would definitely come back again someday.

Really nice campsite, free wifi, hot shower, quiet.
You are close to town and facilities. When you cross the street and walk to the petrol station you can find a mini golf place and the emporium brewery, 3 different types of craft beer and next to the petrol station, some fresh sea food and fish!
For people who like food and beer and a quiet and nice place, well recommended!

Nice big kitchen. Men's bathroom is under renovation so women's was unisex. We had non powered site for 2 people $42 in September. A little pricey but comparable with others in town. Timed showers but hot! Overall, a great site and for guests with kids play area was cool.

We stayed at the height of the peak season and it was very busy but felt very safe, in large part because there were so many kids and young families around.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a really nice cafe called Hislops directly opposite the entrance to this Top 10, really nice food and good veggie/vegan options too! We enjoyed the complimentary 30 min hot tub sessions at the campsite after a chilly afternoon swimming in the sea with dolphins :) A nice 10-15 minute stroll into town from here for booking activities, shops, cafes. There's also a really sweet 1950's cinema on the esplanade where we enjoyed a film on our first night which I would recommend - it was like stepping back in time! Only downside I can think of is that the spaces are small - it didn't bother us much but if you're someone who likes to spread out you would be disappointed. Overall though a good stay.

Smooth, hassle-free check-in for powered camp site. Upkeep of facilities is good despite the occupancy rate is high. Good effort of the crews!
Check out the shower facility, it is interesting! Remember to press the button before entering the shower room. You are given 8 mins to shower.
The park is within walking distance to the town. Take a good walk to town if weather permits.

Great location - easy 15 minute walk to Whale Watching tour boats, and across the road from Hislop's Cafe ( which was FANTASTIC!).
Kids loved the jumping pillow and the original, crazy, ninja light game - that kept them amused for hours! Camp kitchen was adequate and very clean. The only downsides for us were the unheated, draughty bathrooms and time-limited showers, as well as the proximity to the train line. Don't be fooled by the giant, thick hedge - there is a train line only 5 metres behind it and those trains are very loud when they go past in the night! Overall very happy with it, I just would request away from the train and not take a shower on cold days next time!!!
