Decent place to stay in Kaikoura.
Camped here for one night and can't complain about it. The location is very central, the main street with restaurants and the start of the Whale Watching tours are both just a short walk from here. The only downside of this location is that it is close to the street and also to train tracks, so it can get loud sometimes. The toilets and showers were in good condition and clean, hot water was available as well. Free WiFi was available and it was incredibly good/fast.

It's a basic camp.
We stayed 2 nights and we paid $80 for an unpowered site with free wifi unlimited. Toilet and showers are good, the floor is a little old but not dirty ! It's a good place to stay, close to the centre and many activity.
The kitchen was very small...

Basic site.
You have everything: free unlimited Wi-Fi, a really small kitchen, toilets and hot showers. But everything is old and quite dirty. Loud campground...

Our experience wasn't so bad, as compared to the previous reviewers.
We camped for a night, 2 person at the non powered site. It wasn't expensive- it was $18 per person, with access to the kitchen and unlimited hot showers. The kitchen, toilets and bathrooms were clean and well kept. Kitchen's a little small but it's okay.

We felt like we arrived in an old backyard full of junk.
The bathrooms and the kitchen were dirty and smelly. We ended up going to the restaurant to avoid cooking there cause the smell was too bad. It's probably a nice place in the summer but during low season while it's raining, avoid this place.

Stayed here 1 night.
Does not look like photos on this site. Poor facilities, tried to have a shower, left water running for five minutes as instructions said no hot water came out, my wife managed to get wet with hot water unfortunately she had to wash the soap of in cold water. Site very untidey and for 40 dollars a night for a small camper van and the experience of above, was not happy. Moved to site 100 metres along the road for 10 dollars more, and 100 times better.

Pre booked, turned up and they didn't have our booking on file.
Went to room, dirty, smelly, dark and dingy. Tap was pouring out water, they started to fix it but we decided to leave and find elsewhere to stay. Only good thing is proximity to town.

$11-20 but charged $20 and $5 for the power, no pricing structure visible so not sure why the top end ...
We stayed here only because they had availability and we needed a powered site whilst waiting for the delivery of a replacement (working) key for our campervan (don't ask)
maybe we looked gullible or rich?
The toilet and shower block was basic, but usable, the kitchen was not as clean as it could be, but that's down to users, not site owners to some extent.
Very close to the WhaleWay Station, so that's a plus.
