Beautiful scenic spot.
However we were told all water on site was drinkable. We filled every vessel we had with the water there, including the caravan supply before leaving. When we tried drinking the water, it was terrible, maybe it was safe to drink but it tasted so badly of chemicals that we couldn’t drink it and had to dump all our water and double rinse everything and there was still a tainted taste after that. That’s not mentioning the water we had to buy due to no available supply en route until Queenstown. Not cool,

I recently had a disappointing experience with this holiday park.
We arrived on my Birthday August 15th unfortunately, we had to cancel our stay as we were unable to get internet connection, and despite reaching out for a refund, they refused to accommodate our request. Their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive, leaving us feeling frustrated and ignored. I would not recommend this place, as their policies seem rigid and they lack empathy for their guests' situations. Save your money and look elsewhere!

We traveled the South Island in a motor home.
We were low on water so we stopped in at the Franz Josef top 10 and filled our water tank. An upset man approached us and told us to come to the office. He charged us $100.00 to fill our water tank! Would not take less. We did not stay and kept on our way. As out of country tourists this was our only rude experience. I felt I have to warn other travelers of this operators policies. He told us that we would not allow strangers into our home to use the facilities and neither will he.

I thought the staff was very helpful but the holiday park needs some TLC in the gardens, driveways, fences and general cleaning up of the whole premises.
We travelled through quite a lot of the Top Ten parks in the South Island and Franz Josef wasn't one that was appealing.

Easily the worst Top 10 we have been to.
Facilities were dirty, looked like they had not been cleaned in a while. Trash was overflowing. Site was like a dust bowl. Location is well out of town, a 20 minute walk with no proper foot path alongside the main highway is not suitable for kids. The playground sucked (the opinion of my 4 year old), there was one bbq for a big camp and wifi was next to useless. There are better options closer to town!

Pretty poor experience.
For as popular a destination as the West Coast is, and for the price, we expected more from a Top 10 park. The amenities were poor. The playground was for no one over the age of 5. The wi-fi didn't work...the guy at check in issued me the code knowing very well it didn't work...and then seemed unsympathetic with all customers who were questioning what the problem was. The kitchen facilities were filthy and the trash/recycleables were overflowing the entire time we were there. The bathrooms were a disaster too with what seemed like maybe one cleaning per day. I never once saw a staff member outside of the main office. We stayed at 7 parks during our time in NZ and this was by far the worst. I hate to complain, but I'd stay away from this park. I'm not sure if the Fox Glacier park is much better but it'd be worth considering.

Admittedly the camp had been severely flooded only two weeks prior, when the river overflowed, so there was still mud and clay all over the place and on some of the sites, so this was walked into showers
and toilet blocks. The office staff were very helpful. We had a reasonable view of the glacier, we probably won't stay there again all the same.

Usually Top 10 holiday parks are really good but this one was not.
Both BBQs did not work. I reserved the hot tub for 5 dollars. The water was barely hot, so was the shower attached to it. Spent there a minute and left. I returned to the office next morning for a refund. It was closed. A note asked to ring a bell for an answer and so I did. There was none. I still want my $5 refund. This is not Top 10 but a top zero for me.

Arrived in the late afternoon without a reservation and there were several powered spots available.
They assigned us a spot away from others to space us out. it was a little further from the kitchen and bathrooms but it was quiet. Kitchen had lots of prep space and sinks. The free wifi was limited and didn't work for us that night.

Two persons in a powered campervan site $46.
Nice grounds and generally well looked after. Bathrooms were nice and clean and had good spacious showers with an entrance to change in. Pricey, for $46 you expect to have Wifi, have to pay extra $ if you want it. It seems weird to us that Top 10 doesn't have a standard policy on Wifi, depending on the campsite it could be included or not... Wooden tables and benches in the kitchen were okayish but a bit basic. Okayish, won't wow you but won't disappoint you.

A very clean and neat holiday park.
Not much of any view though. We came when there was hardly anyone one around so it was pretty great for us as we liked the quietness here. Hot shower was great as you can get your own personal shower/make up cubicle and the water pressure is amazing. The owner allowed us to choose anywhere we liked to park due to the low season which was great. They also were very friendly and helped us with the heli bookings. Will be back here again.

SHOCKER - Staff acted as if booking in was a the biggest distraction to whatever else they were doing.
Assigned to a RV site more like a pool - there were some dry sites vacant. They were equally rude and unhelpful to the next 2 campers. Washers & dryers just ate money and left wet cloths. Unisex facilities had broken sinks and toilets, and far from clean. NB. New facilities were locked. Not good enough given price and our good experiences in non franchised campsites. Top10 I think not - the roadside offers almost as much. Give this one a miss.
