Recently stayed at Kiwi Park in Murchison.

Staff were really friendly and great! The campsite facilities we’re clean and the grounds were well-kept. I was told that new owners have recently taken over, how great! I even purchased some fresh eggs from reception for breakfast. Will definitely be staying again.

Not sure why some of the reviews don't like the price 22 per person is pretty standard for powered site it's 20 per person for unpowered.

A email, wallaby, deer, sheep, pig and wallaby plus ducks that follow you around. Pretty easy. Lots of sandflies here

Avoid this business to save trouble.

Made online booking on 22/06/2022 for a room with 2 beds for 2 ladies to stay on the Boxing Day night. The price was $142.50. Reception was not open when we checked in and out. Got charged $183.78. The owner of this biz insisted the price at the time of booking was incorrect. Then we 2 ladies used an extra bed. We were not related, booked for 2 beds and used 2 beds. Disputed through my credit card issuer and got refund on the overcharged amount. People might say why bother for such a small amount. My principle is giving up means to encourage the foul play.

Don't expect this site to honour your Kiwi Holiday Parks discount card.

I was told they have left the organisation and no longer accept it although they are in the 2019 Brochure which offers the discount. The nice lady at reception (not an owner) had the decency to be embarrassed.

This place looks like the old style Kiwi holiday park but modernised maybe 15-20 years ago, by a farmer, in the style of the 70's. On arrival there was a lamb chained to a tree. What?!!

Facilities are vanilla, clean-ish to start with but not so much after a couple of days of staff inactivity. Generally well kept though. Lots of trees to provide shelter, birdsong, and ducks wandering about. The Wi-Fi is so slow that it couldn't manage all the data $5 bought for the 24-hour period. Don't even dream of streaming a TV show, it barely manages the Rankers website. I only paid the $5 because cell data was non-existent. So forget Wi-Fi.

The lamb was gone in the morning, and the chain with it.

I didn't see anybody from the site except for the nice lady at reception and another lady with a spray bottle of (I presume) cleaning fluid, as I left. There was a slightly creepy post-apocalyptic feel to the place. I guess the site just reflects Murchison, a town that time and even hippies passed by. Shudder and move on.

    Why would you? Good question.

Why wouldn't you? I Don't know where to start. Certainly don't bother if you're expecting a 15% discount with your Kiwi HP card. And not if you're looking for a pleasant and rewarding holiday destination. Or value for money - there's better and much cheaper just up the road.

Mark-downs? Cheeky (scam) to use the brochure to make an offer but then withdaw it when people arrive. They should in all decency have waited out the current (2019) brochure. Grubby facilities, duck poo on outside seating, desolate atmosphere.

    Return? No, I think not.

Top Tip: the Murchison Motorhome Park is 9K out of town. It's about half the price all up, and much nicer.

Not a bad campsite although a bit expensive.

( with kids in tow) it cost us $60 per night and still had to pay for showers. The playground needs work but the kids loved the animals. The owners were really nice.

The lady on reception (we presume the owner) was probably the most welcoming and lovely lady, on arrival she explained the area and campsite to us, and then chatted for about 10 minutes!

The campsite facilities were ok, seen better, seen worse. The bathrooms are shared (which did not bother us but is worth noting). They had DVDs for rental and animals you could pet which were nice extra touches! It was a little dirty however it was pouring with rain so it would be unfair to presume it is always like that!

The spot we had was really nice, had a grass area and a picnic table! We would come back again, but ultimately what made it for us was the lady and the service she gave:)

Best place to stay in Murchison!

Great camp spots among the trees and lush green grass. The cabins are also really nice. Very friendly owners and a cool bunch of pet animals out the back which you are allowed to feed. Great place

Nice quiet spot - a haven for sand flies!

Facilities good, but need a really good clean - spider webs etc everywhere. 50c additional charge for showers is annoying - I couldn't even get hot water in the ladies basin to wash my face in the morning - options were 50c in the shower or go to the kitchen. Bit odd! Owners were friendly and the animals and playground were a nice touch for the children. Have stayed recently in similar places that were cheaper, so think this one was a bit overpriced.

    It's a place to park.

It was close to $40 for two of us to sleep in a car. The bathrooms were clean, but you have to pay to shower. The kitchen was pretty gross and wasn't stocked with much at all utensil/plates/cups wise. Bring your own everything if you crash here.

Of the 9 camp grounds we stayed at over this summer, this one was the worst.

It is a beautiful spot and the camp sites are nice but the amenities are pretty mediocre. The tariff was one of the highest we paid but then on top of it showers and Internet were additional charges making it over priced by comparison to any of the other sites we stayed at. The animals on site do add some charm and I am sure they add a lot interest for families with children but I didn't feel that that they really merit the extra cost.

With a bit of an update of the kitchen and bathrooms and elimination of the ridiculous add on charges Kiwi Park would easily could easily come in as a favourite.

A pleasant site with lots of animals, great for kids, males/females had to share shower block as actual ladies facilities were locked up for winter - not ideal.

Lots of ducks but didn't come across the duck poo mentioned in a previous review. Not sure why showers were 50 cents a go for five minutes when every other park we stayed in included that benefit in site charges. Was offered change when checking in. A few bugs due to rural sylvan setting but wouldn't be put off visiting this 'quality' site especially with kids.

Wasn't advised when I checked in that I would be constantly stepping in duck excrement around the camping/power sites so I decided to leave.

Went back to reception within the hour and was told that I wouldn't be getting a refund. Had paid for 2 nights so I was pretty p***ed off.

This is an interesting one as we went looking for duck evidence, with the help of fellow campers and we couldn't find any.

He also did enquire about a potential refund if he didn't stay a second night, but that was all. Happy days

Hi Sue - thanks for the review. You are able to run your dogs from our gate if you choose and they're welcome on a lead in our Park.

There's loads to do in Murchison so if ever through again we'll give you a map and some good pointers. Best wishes
