I think this was probably one of our favourite campsites to stay in.
Stayed for 2 nights mid-week in November. Not too busy and we luckily chose a powered site which was by the showers, toilets and kitchen but had no one next to us. Staff are really friendly, campsite is clean and tidy, and it’s right by the beach to get the Abel Tasman boat shuttle the next day. I’d recommend eating in the Beached Whale which is a great restaurant basically onsite. Only downsides to the park are it is quite expensive and we’ve found others offering similar for a cheaper cost and the showers aren’t the most intuitive to use (you need to press a button outside of the shower cubicle to get hot water for 6 minutes- if, like my sister, you use the entrance to the showers which are the other side from where the buttons are, you can easily miss this because there’s no signage and end up having to take a freezing cold shower!)

Nice site close to the beach.
It was quiet when we were there . First week in December but I suspect it gets very busy later. Large kitchen facilities and good showers.

The facilities are perfect, everything is clean.
Have water, dump station, kitchens, hot showers, and everything you could need. Yet, the camping places are next to each other and there was a million other people. As we like a more cosy and intimate setting, that was not exactly for us.

Big Campsite just next to the beach!
Great kitchen facilities and toilets/showers. Not unlimited WiFi. You get only 1gb for free! Just next to the sea shuttles to the Abel Tasman Nationalpark.

Very big, big kitchen, showers are limited in time and have not much pressure, difficult with long hair.
Wifi is limited to and doesn‘t work, not even google some things. Too expensive for all that (62$ one Camper, 2 adults)

Brilliant camp.
Perfect for families and anyone else who can embrace a big community.
We were parked in Green Zone D13 in an RV in early March for a one night stay. It doesn’t look it on the map: but this is plenty close to the beach. It’s a few seconds away and everyone has space on this big site. We never felt like we were in a parking lot because the grounds are well kept with views of the sea and the hills.
This camp attracted a lot of Kiwis and folks who’ve been driving caravans and campervans for decades. It was lovely to see so many old vehicles with net curtains and such. A real friendly and chatty crowd.
Toilets and showers: clean. Powerful showers on a six minute timer but at no extra $.
There was some toilet paper on the floor and one toilet had poop on the seat but I think this is an unlucky encounter with thoughtless campers, not a reflection of the site.
Order your food early if you want dinner, the bar kitchen gets a backlog and the staff are working so hard there. Ditto at reception. Those guys were so helpful.
This is a fantastic location and it’s impressive that a big camp can have so much heart.
Highlights:
- The orange fridge that it actually a library
- Spotless kitchen
- Signs reminding you that you can ask staff for utensils, straighteners etc
- Lots of cute ducks! If you feed them be prepared for a swarm….
- Somehow bug free!!
I had a super time watching the sun go down with the sound of the live band playing Fleetwood Mac in the background.
Thank you!

Not a fan of big sites and this one was as expected.
Pros - beachside location, nice bar, big shop. Cons - pitches on top of each other (but not noisy), showers were dirty, cold and timed. There are a couple of sites just down the road which are smaller and more chill but if you want all singing all dancing or have children with you this would be a good option.

I walked in and got the last available campsite.
Paid 64$ for one person and a car. As I arrived to my campsite I realised that i wouldn't feel comfortable in a packed holiday park like this, so i went straight back to the reception to tell them about my situation and get my money refunded before leaving to a more quiet place. The Overweighted guy with glasses told me they wouldn't refund for one night. Must be very proud of himself.

A great site to stay on right next to the beautiful beach.
Staff were super friendly, $50 for a non-powered site for 2 people per night. I can imagine it gets very busy in peak season but it was quite quiet considering there were lots of people in our area. Clean facilities, free hot showers but for 6 minutes by pressing a button outside the shower. You can just get out and press it again for more time so not much of a pain. Good kitchen, BBQ & laundry facilities too.

I camped here every year over the summer when i was growing up.
We finally managed to get a site again this year and it was just as amazing as i remember. Being a stroll away from the most beautiful beach is the highlight for me. Facilities havent changed a lot but were always well maintained. Showers were 6 minutes but did not cost. I thought the price was pretty reasonable compared to other campgrounds in the area. Wifi isnt great though 100mb a day which gets chewed through pretty quickly but at the end of the day im not there to sit on a device!

Awesome spot.
Right across the road from a beautiful beach. Dairy and burger joint right next door. Large camping spots. We rocked up just after Labor Day which I’m guessing was very busy. Great showers, toilets and cooking facilities. The laundry is $2 for a wash cycle and $2 for drying. May stay another night.

Nice enough site by the beach.
However, paid 70 dollars for a pitch before finding out the showers are extra, the bbq is extra, couldn't log into WiFi but that's probably a moot point because you only get 100MB of data before that too costs extra.
The site is fine, but the penny pinching set-up immediately left a sour taste in the mouth and I wish we'd tried the place up the road.

Situated directly across road from beach.
Busy camp with lots of activity. Paid for lovely warm showers 50c/6mins. Bar/restaurant on site with live music which doesn’t effect noise levels. Coffee bar We stayed two nights and site was quiet with relaxed holiday vibe. Easy access to Abel Talsman activities with water taxi pick up outside camp if required. Cycle and kayak activities nearby. Staff at reception and shop very friendly and helpful.
If you prefer quieter, natural camping site probably best you don’t stay here.

Loved our stay here.
Staff super friendly and accommodating. Park was quiet when we visited but such a great location. 1 adult 3 kids was cheaper than other campsite we stayed at $53 and powered. Highly recommend staying. Such a beautiful place and directly across the road from paradise. Gripe- other campsite we’ve stayed at had picnic tables on all campsites which we found so helpful or scattered close by. This 1 had 2 at the kitchen for patrons to use. Would be nice to have a lot more but did notice a lot of patrons were campervans too who had tables in them. All in all wonderful place.

There were just 2 of us and the campsite was quiet so didn't seem expensive at Nzd 46.
We had no neighbours on either side and were in block A facing the ocean and great ocean view. We mix with Freedom camping so paying now and again for a night is fine for us.

Excellent location if you are lucky enough to get one of the few beach front spots.
Very expensive compared to other places we have stayed, $23 per person per night. Showers are old and you have to pay. Payment box is located outside of cubicle so if you run out of time you can't top up. Wifi is terrible and limited. Facilities are clean. Its the beach location that makes this place.

It was $23 per person per night.
It was quite expensive for a small slot that we got next to the hundreds upon hundreds of people that there crammed in there. We’ve been camping around New Zealand for the last 5 weeks and I’m most disappointed with this place. If you’re going to charge this much maybe give more than 50mb (10 minutes) of WiFi.

Lovely area with a delicious cafe right next door.
There’s nothing too special about the site but it’s in a very convenient location and the bathrooms and showers are clean. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about the showers but it’s 50 cents and clean and so refreshing after a day out in the sun, totally worth it. The employees are very nice and it’s a cool place to stay for a night or two.

Stayed 3 nights early December 2017 in drop dead gorgeous weather, golden sands, 25 degrees, great location and great facilities.......a definite 10 for us although by comparison on the expensive side
so if you can overcome that then come here. A decent pub and restaurant ,a good supermarket, a great beach with walks and perfect open water swimming and track cycling - Kaiteriteri is one heck of a place for a beach rest and access to the National Park and boat trips- bingo!
