I'm not sure why this place gets such a low score.
The site is immaculate and the facilities are brilliant. There's a huge kitchen area that is spotlessly clean, and the showers are fantastic. It is a very easy walk to any part of Havelock and it's quiet. My only comment is that it is on the upper end of the cost scale, but you do get what you pay for.

A nice holiday park.
It looked like they had recent renovation works as everything looked new and clean. They have a big kitchen and dining area, clean toilets, paid shower ($1/5mins), and other campervan facilities. The only dog friendly holiday park in Havelock I think.

Great campsite close to town with restaurants, cafes and For Square, and close to marina.
Facilities modern and clean, with only some utensils provided (bring your own). Helpful owners. Showers are modern and clean, $1 for four minutes. However, they are the strangest showers I have seen: water comes direct out of the wall, not the side, so that the curtain cannot hold it all back, and any gear on the floor gets wet; no bench for clothes. Timer starts running from when you put in the money, so you have to strip first, then go (naked?) to the money slot to make the most of it.

They are super friendly and did more for us than they had to. Booked us a boat tour and moved our camper to another space, because wo spontaneous wanted to stay one night longer.
The campsite ist very clean, the facilities are cleaned every day several times.
The only thing to criticize is that you have to pay extra for the showers, but it’s okay, $1 for 8 minutes.
We loved that place so much and havelock is a very beautiful place to stay, not quite big but it has everything you need.

The place itself is okay and right in the centre of town for a stopover.
However $34 dollars for an unpowered site & paying extra to use the showers is a bit of a rip off! The owners actually weren't that friendly when we arrived, maybe we caught them on a bad day. I wouldn't stay here again and would next time keep driving to another spot, that's a lot more friendly.

We were passing by this little town and looking for accommodation for the night, as we drive in and have a look and wanted to look for office, a guy who look extremely unfriendly and fierce is there waiting
to greet us, we roll down the car window to greet him, he looks like he wanted to punch us, he said the office is just right at entrace but it looks like a town information deck or ticket booking office. Then he said "you speed in to my place and now speed out, now piss off". He mark himself as the rudest person i met in nz and the worst welcome a boss could ever offer. You are well deserved this review.

I really liked this sleepy little campsite.
The owner was one of the friendliest people we met on our whole journey. He had great recommendations (not just for Havelock but for lots of parts of the South Island). Unfortunately, Havelock was a little "dead" when we were there. The spots were nice (gravel), and the bathrooms were clean although you had to pay for shower (which was unfortunate because it seemed a little high to have to still pay for shower). Regardless I would give them my business again.

Stayed for three nights, did intend two but the adverse weather with the heavy rain and high winds we needed an extra night.
The owners are a great couple and can’t do enough for you. A lovely clean site. I didn’t get the “geared up for residents” bit as we found all the people we spoke to were just passing through during their holidays. While there, try the mail boat trip with Jim the Scottish skipper, a great day out.

The pitches were a decent size and facilities were fine. Easy walk to restaurants and attractions in Havelock - very close to the harbour and marina. The site does back on to rows of garages on the Marina so is not the most picturesque outlook.

Havelock is a great village and there is a lot going in around the marina with the Post boat trip but the park is set up for permanent residents and not visitors...At least that’s the way it feels....facilities
and staff are great but a bit of a car park feel for a holiday park price. A definite stop over as we stayed two nights but not many options locally if you want power and a dump station.

It was raining and we wanted to stay 1 night only on the way to Picton.
But nice location (a few meters to Marina and town centre), friendly host and very tidy facilities made us stay another night. The kitchen is well equipped incl. pots and pans. The shower costs 1$ per 8min. Playground and public park is located right beside the camp site. We have payed 38$ per night for a powered site. We can recommend the motorcamp !

Read a couple of reviews from the UK from a few years back.
Cannot understand what they are on about. Very friendly staff and extremely helpful. Good facilities all round and for the only site in Havelock it was reasonably priced. Went to the Mussel Pot for great meal and a longish walk around the marina which is also a nature reserve.

Kitchen has everything you need. We had spot 55 which is quiet, far in the back and a short walk to the facilities but just around the corner from the marina. A few more picnic tables around would be nice. There is not a lot to do if you're not into fishing or plan to go on a boat trip.

The best motorcamp in the South of New Zealand!
Manager is really kind, booked the restaurant for me as I was starving, smiled to me, takes care of his camp very well. You can have a hot bath (first time) as there are showers and one bath ($1 8 minutes or $2 16 minutes). There is a hairdryer, and you can also weigh yourself! Everything is very clean. Big wood tables under a roof to eat and discuss with other campers, protected from the rain (not usual), all you expect in the kitchen to cook, good wifi (paid). Do not hesitate to take the Kenepuru Road, the landscapes in the Kenepuru Sounds are amazing.
