Worst top10 experience so far, unfriendly staff (not all but one of them), kitchen small and unclean, bathrooms unclean as well, paying 1$ for shower is okay, but if the first 2min are still icecold it

is quite bad. Nice location at the beach and good site, café looked good as well

Very good campsite with good, clean, hot showers.

The same goes for the kitchens. The plus point is the beach next door and the café. The lady at the reception was very nice, ready to show you the places to see

Lovely location, nice and quiet considering it was quite busy.

We arrived after hours so used their straight forward late check in service. We had a non-powered site for 2 people for $48. Toilets and showers were very clean, we didn’t use the kitchen or laundry room but I am guessing it is very clean and well kitted out as everywhere else was.

The campsite staff were super friendly and welcoming!

    The cafe looked yummy.

We chose a powered beachfront site, so nice going to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing.

The toilets and showers were clean (you have to pay $1 to use the showers).

A nice, neatly laid out camp site.

Love the proximity to the beach. We were here for just 1 night but we quickly decided that we'd come back for a longer stay in the future. The staff were helpful and accommodating. We travel with our dogs and the park was a great place to stop with them. Easy access to walks and clean facilities.

When you’ve already paid for a powered site I don’t see why you should have to pay for showers. Also only 3 for the women and it was packed!

As Top Ten sites go it was at the lower end.

Road noise pretty bad, needed wellies for the beach( deep tiny shingle), no view, and to add insult to injury extra payment required for the showers. They pleaded that they were in a ‘dry area’ ….fair enough, then reduce the camp fee? It just hacks people off when Top Ten sites are so much dearer anyway.

Was told that this park was pet friendly and had a booking confirmed, only to be rung and told it had been cancelled as they were “restructuring” their pet policy.

Did not receive a refund, nor response to any of my phone calls and emails requesting our money back as this was managements decision to cancel. Was looking forward to our stay, obviously they weren’t looking forward to us but enjoyed the free money.

We rate wifi highly, to have laughable reliability, even ‘free’ is a bit silly and cheap.

The tech is available, not expensive, get with the program!!

Clean enough, tidy enough, overpriced for what it is for me, especially dollar showers.

Good way to control water I guess, but unmetered and free showers the other end of the bay....

    Pleasant staff, certainly no dramas.

Campervan site rows separated by hedges.

Flat and grassy ground. 48$ for a power site for 2 persons per night (beach sites more expensive). Showers 2$ extra. Laundry 4$ excluding detergent.

    Facilities not new but clean.

Free WiFi offer is pre-historical; I felt reminded of 2012: 100 MB for one device valid for 30 minutes after activation.

10-15 minutes by car from Napier.

Great powered campervan site overlooking the ocean, beautiful.

the pricing in winter was ridiculous. $84 for 4 people and you have to pay $1 to shower for 5mins??? The timers on the tumble driers are set very short and you cant actually dry your clothes.

    Good and clean facilities.

10 mins drive from city center. This has been the most expensive campground we stayed so far 70$ a night for a powered site for 2 adults and 2 children age 1&4 (the price is 12$ per child which is not mentioned here) so the plus is close to beach and the minus is expensive.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night last week in our Jucy camper van.

Our site was near the bathroom and kitchen facilities and we did not have a problem with noise. This campground is in airport flight path, but it is a small regional airport and we did not have a problem with airplane noise overnight. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean. Womens bathroom has a hairdryer which was nice, although I did not need to use it. We did not use the shower facilities. Overall, a nice clean campground. No frills, but no extras needed as we had other activities planned for our time in Hawk’s Bay.

Nicely located camp site close enough to Napier for a day trip (by car).

Very silent and great if you can grab one of the sites next to the beach. Showers and toilets well maintained and clean (we didn't use the kitchen though, but expect them to be as well maintained). Great café - apart from their opening hours. 4 pm seems a bit early to close (that's the reason for not scoring 10, sorry) but great coffee and snacks. Would stay there again!

This site has everything going for it, beach front sites far enough away from the road so little noise and each site separated by planting.

Shop and cafe on site although cafe closes at 4.00pm. Disappointingly, the kitchen was smelly with rusty electric cooking hobs and filthy tea towels and cloths. We felt we couldn't use it. Most unlike the many and varied Kiwi sites we have used over the last three weeks.

A campsite by the sea, with great views of the Hawkes Bay and Napier, welcoming space with a fully equipped BBQ area.

Hot showers limited to 5 minutes and paid $1 .... but it seems that is because of the water restrictions. Welcome, well-equipped kitchen .... Attention sandflies and insects can multiply.

Looks like a very lovely location and we will probably visit when we are traveling pet-free.

However, it is listed as pet friendly on website, and we found out they only allow very small dogs. We were quite disappointed our medium-sized family dog was not allowed, as no where on the site does it say small-sized only or we wouldn't have bothered. Perhaps that needs to be adjusted on their advertising? Cheers, SM :)
