Beautiful beachside location, quite far from town but very close to Sunshine Brewery and coast.

Extremely clean and ample facilities - including bounce pillow and pool so would be great for kids. Grass site. Would recommend.

This was our first time at a 'top 10' and have to say we found it very average.

It's very expensive for a campsite ($28pppn - this was for a powered site but they had no option for non-powered). It's in a good location (next to the beach and about 10mins to town) and the facilities are very clean. They have quite small sites which are allocated on arrival, so you don't get to choose where you set up. It's not bad but we have stayed in much better campsites for a lot less.

$30 pppn for a tent/powered site in November seems crazy for the quality of the site.

Pricing is also wrong on the page. Can’t recommend it for what it is. Real shame as top10’s are usually really decent if a bit pricey.

If you want to stay in Gisborne for a night or two, I recommend this place.

It's very close to CBD, farmer's market (on Saturdays) and some good walks around the town. Beachfront. The facilities are not new, but clean, and there 's a lot of space for the kids to play. The campsites for campervans and the lot are not so big, your neighbors will be close to you. Free wifi (500 mb pd), free showers and 23 $ pp on a powered site.

You can hear the trucks and some noise from the harbour but it'll slow down at night. Had a good sleep here, nothing to complain. Staff very friendly.

Disappointed with the motel unit, with the price charged the standard should be much higher.

The paintwork is shabby the furniture in spare room looks like its from op shop. You can hear the people's conversations next door. Basically price demands better standard.

Nice and tidy place with swimming pool but it's very expensive for what you get (28$/pp power site) no place in the fridge, close to the port.

Check-in is not very friendly and they ask for credit card even if you stay in your van. You need a card and/or a code to acces the facilities. Not really a good vibe there so if you have other options take them.

After staying in many free, DOC and family owned sites, this was our first top 10.

While everything is immaculately taken care of and facilities were very clean, it was also kind of disappointing. Need a swipe card to get into everything. Doors to kitchen, fridge, freezer, bathrooms, etc. Kitchen had stove and hot plate, but had to bring all your own pots, pans, plates, etc. Tennis courts on site, really cool play area and a swimming pool. Plenty of bathrooms and showers. Camping sites were pretty small. Got 500mb wifi/day. For a childless couple who was just there to shower and sleep, the price didn't seem worth it.

Good clean facilities. 20 minute walk in to the city with shops and restaurants.

Only small gripe was that they put everyone right next door to each other even though the park was empty, asked at the desk and they let us move down to the other end of the park by ourselves.

Liked it here so much we stayed an extra night.

This holiday park is in a great location right next to the beach!

Great facilities and the mini theatre showing kids movies every night during the school holidays was great! The new pool is amazing and we enjoyed it during the hot days. Loved the kai karts and eating area which added to the summer beach atmosphere. My only complaint is the noise coming from the port into the wee hours of the night (ships loading cargo).

Had the MOST memorable stay at the Waikanae Top 10 Holiday Park, from the time of arrival to our departure.

The friendly smiley faces from the staff upon arrival made us feel so welcome. There is nothing to dislike about this place. Everything is so close by takeaways, restaurants, the city center and even better foot steps away from the BEACH. Their communal facilities are clean and tidy, even though we were booked into an Ensuite Cabin with our very own shower and rest room, it was nice to check out those areas for next time if we decide to camp.

Looks like we've found our home away from home.

    No charm and no shade.

Facilities are all good, kitchen is very large, but was stinky from burnt things and fish from other guests, 'cinema' and game room ok, but the campground just didn't have any charm. Fenced all around, no trees. It's just two roads parallel to the beach road with one van/tent after the next.

This campground was the most expensive we stayed at.

A small tent and 2 people $50. Staff were friendly. They gave each person a security card to get into the facilities. Felt like you were at work. Trucks rumbled by at the back of the campground. the facilities are old. But they did work and were very clean. We used the car wash which was great to be able to use. Its next to a great beach good for pre-teens to play in.

Small shop where you can hire surf boards as well. Close to the city beach. Access to the beach only through the main gate. You can choose your own spot when you ask for it. Grassy pitches. Facilitiy block c is incredibly old. The other was just ok.

The whole place felt a little bit as it has seen better days... (like the city Gisborne itself)
